...but at least he wasn't awarded custody.

His lawyer really tried hard to rip me apart, and painted me in a horrible light. It was the most gut wrenching, nerve wracking experience of my life. Everything out of my ex's mouth was pretty much a lie.....his fiance never showed up as a witness, but 2 old friends of mine and his mother did. Wow, it's funny how you think people *used* to like you...

At any rate, the judge decided to leave our situation at "status quo" meaning that we have to switch her off every week. I'm so ticked and depressed...he claims that he's putting her in school next week (yea, right!!) and now her new school is going to be disrupted because of this crap. I'm not even sure if her school will allow her every other week classes....and if they do, I'll probably have to pay for when she's not there.

By the way...apparently Dawn is still married as well. So two people who are still legally married to someone else are now engaged to each other. Nice.

My head hurts, I cried all through lunch with Maddy because it just hurts my heart to have to do this. I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT!!! I just want to scream :(

The divorce will happen in the next few months, but no date has been set yet :( I thank you all for thinking of us...please continue to pray that it will get better.

***Edited to add***

His lawyer also made a big deal of pointing out that I was stupid for quitting my old $10 an hour job to go work for Disney. I argued that at Disney I have benefits, the ability to use their daycare and financial aid, and the chance for advancement. He didn't care. He also thought it was bad that I put her in daycare 8 hours a day (a normal working shift).

He also cheerfully admitted that he did indeed call me a terrorist in his faxed letter back in July. I told him I thought it was in poor taste, he said it was because I held my child "hostage" and I don't know what would have happened if the Judge didn't stop it there.

Siiiiiigh. :worried:

you'll remain in my thoughts and prayers...i hope that miss maddy will be able to come home to be with her mommy full-time!!

 I am so sorry that things did not go as well as we all hoped. Keep your chin up, for it will happen.

I am so sorry to hear it did not go as well as you had hoped. My prayers will continue for your strength to get you through this. Maddy is so lucky to have you.

Don't give up!

Pam

Having been through some of this, all I can say is keep a positive outlook and deal with that which is in your control.

Make a habit of documenting *everything*

Other than that, just try not to get too down about it. It will get sorted out in the end. It's just a rough road in the meantime.

Best wishes for you and your daughter.

Hang in there. There's light at the end of every tunnel!

 so sorry to hear that it didn't go well for you. Just keep the faith...Miss Maddy will be with you full time in the future.

I'm sorry that things did not turn out the way you'd hoped. I am surprised that the judge awarded such a strange arrangement with Maddy in school. That must be very disruptive to her.

I sure hope you get better results nex time! Maddy deserves the stability you can give her. Keep your chin up! It will all work out.

I'm so sorry it didn't go the way you hoped.

I'm sorry things didn't turn out the way you were hoping they would. :(

I'm sorry this didn't work out for you Steph hopefully somewhere along the line someone will get a clue and see she is better off with you.

Oh, Steph. I am so sorry this has happened. My prayers are with you and I hope that it will all get worked out at your divorce hearing.
Hugs,
Sherry

What is this judge thinking?? How can all of this be good for Maddy?? Is your lawyer ripping him to shreds too??? I certainly hope so! I hope it gets better for you and Maddy soon, you will be in my thoughts.

Oh Steph, I'm so sorry. Ugh. I can't see how any judge would think it was in a child's best interest to go to two different schools at once! He's definately making the child get stuck in the middle. So what do you do now?
