I'm afraid to change my email address on DVC member website

True confessions: For years I have been wanting to switch to gmail or similar from my Comcast email account but have been too lazy. I HATE Comcast. Their customer service is the worst on the planet. It is a total PITA changing email addresses on all of the websites where I shop, bank, etc. Taking forever. I have not yet touched any of the Disney websites or apps, where I am registered with my Comcast email address. I am scared to death that all of my DVC stuff will be totally messed up. I have trips booked for Feb., March, April, Oct. and Dec. and I can only imagine the nightmares with the magic bands if the change in email causes any issues.
So-o-o-o, has anyone out there changed email address on the Disney websites and apps, including DVC? Any problems?
 
I did this a couple of years ago. No problems at all. Of coarse I do not remember if I had any vacations booked when I did it but all you are doing is associating an email address with your DVC member number. Your reservations should be booked under your Member Number and not your email address so you should be OK.
 
We went through the password resets and contact info update with Disney's tech folks a year ago. They said that what they did would update/correct all Disney owned websites and accounts.

We later found out that our DVC accounts still had old information attached to them and they fixed them twice. The last time fixed by member satisfaction who told me that they had tools that MS doesn't have access to and everything is corrected.

When we checked into the VGF last December, they had our home address as our address from 3 years ago.

Back to member satisfaction, they ask that we wait until later in the year to correct due to Disney's problems with the accounts, MDE, and databases.

Okay. I bucked up my courage and went to the DVC member website. There was a link to update registration across all websites. Yeh, right. Clicked on the link. Some items can't be changed and some fields that look like they can be updated don't work. Somehow I just knew that trying to do something as basic as this would NOT be simple because Disney's IT is so pathetic. <sigh> :badpc:

I have had some difficulties with password, username on MDE, I was assured that one would be discontinued, but it has not been. It is something I live with.

Jean, I want to wish you a great trip with your DSis! Mine is seriously considering the Panama Canal cruise with us, and I am hoping it comes to pass!

Thanks, Bobbi. Keeping my fingers crossed that everyone stays healthy so the trip happens! This will be DSis's one chance to do Hawaii!
 
If you have a lot of logins it might be painful. My wife's accounts were a mess for a few years ( movie, reward, d23, store, dvc...). They would get one fixed and the others would go to limbo. I spent 3 hours on the phone a few weeks ago and it looks like they got them all fixed finally.
