Illuminations vs Wishes

Wishes! Love the music, the castle, and it's what I think of when I think of Disney World!

Wishes.

Illuminations is nice but the fireworks displays for it are smaller and interspersed with long periods of reflecting music. It's not a bad show but Wishes just has more going for it.

Now if you and your group are more "mature" then Illuminations might resonate with you more as it's about the world coming of age and growing together compared to Wishes which involves all the disney characters.

But yeah, Wishes. :)

The only time I think Illuminations can take the edge is in December when they have the holiday finale which tacks on another 5 minutes of all out fireworks.

Illuminations!
While we think both fireworks shows are spectacular, I choose Illuminations because we enjoy watching them in a *much* less crowded Epcot. MK IMO is a nightmare trying to leave after Wishes. We end up leaving right before & watching from the ferry!

It's a VERY tough call, but I'm giving the edge to Illuminations. It's a bit more exciting, and I love the music. Fantasmic! is my favorite nighttime spectacular at WDW though.

Illuminations! We really like Illuminations more as it is not just a firework show, it's lights, fire, lasers, a big globe and a story. There is a lot more places to watch Illuminations and EPCOT WS is our favorite nighttime area to drink/shop and eat.

Wishes. I love fireworks and Tink flying at the beginning. I actually go out of my way to avoid Illuminations it just doesn't interest me at all.

I honestly can't decide between them. They are great for different reasons and so different that comparing almost seems unfair. I loved them both dearly.

However, Symphony in the Stars fireworks at Hollywood Studios blew my mind!! Best. Fireworks. Ever. Of course, it's replaced now with the new show, which I cannot comment on. But man. Those were some amazing freaking fireworks!

WISHES! Don't have any special fondness for Illuminations (and I didn't like Fantasmic at all).

Star Wars, Wishes, Fantasmic, Illuminations.

Illuminations isn't bad, but the whole ball showing the world needs and update. It's a bit "meh" imo

WISHES! by miles.
Wishes is WDW.
The music, the timing of the fireworks, the magnitude of the fireworks, the Castle backdrop, Tinkerbell.

Illuminations is fine if you happen to be there, but that floating ball of the world and some grainy footage and then it blooms...I don't get it.
