Illuminations from International Gateway???

We are making a quick trip to Disney at the end of the month. My original plan was not to do the parks our first day as we arrive in MCO around 11am. We were going to play at SAB and than do Chef Mickey's. That said we only have one other night in the parks. My DD wants to do Fantasmic and Illuminations. I don't won't to waste a day on her hopper for just Illuminations. Has anyone ever watched it from the Gateway?

You can see the upper fireworks but, none of the ground lasers.
