Thinking about booking a Illuminations Cruise to cap off the night after wedding and dinner.
What happens if it is cancelled due to weather?
Do they still charge you?
How bad does the weather have to be for them to cancel?
Any info would be appreciated!

If they cancel the cruise because of weather, you are not charged. This very rarely happens. The only time an illuminations cruise is cancelled is if there is severe lightening within 6 miles of WDW. I have no knowledge of any cruise ever being cancelled. That doesn't mean it has never happened, I just don't know about it if it did.

Illuminations cruise is not cancelled due to wind or rain--the only weather phenomenon considered serious enough to cancel one of these cruises is lightening with 6 miles.

If you cancel the cruise yourself, make sure that you give 24 hours notice or you will be charged the full fee, even if you are cancelling because of the weather.

During our trip to WDW last December, we had a Magic Kingdom Fireworks cruise planned. The weather that day was cold and misty, we pretty much resolved ourselves to bundling up and bringing extra blankets. By 5:00, it was misting more, the wind had kicked up and it was VERY cold. It was probably close to 40 (which is frigid for Florida).

They called and offered us the chance to cancel "Due to the fact we had children on the cruise and it was going to be very very cold on the lake". DW had already decided to not bring the kids and Daddy was just going to go, but this at least gave us an out.

It was a bummer that the weather was like that, but it still would have gone had we wanted to.

But just wanted to let you know that we just got back on Sunday and had an Illuminations cruise on Wednesday the 19th.

Can I just say, Loved It!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

This was our first time for the cruise, we had a total of 6 adults and 6 kids and this was the best view of Illuminations that I had every seen.

Enjoy and congratulations!

We enjoyed a super cold Illuminations Cruise in Dec. 2000.

The boat came equiped with Hot Choc. and blankets.

Doesn't our family look like they are having fun!
