Hi there

Anyone looking to share an Illuminations Cruise during August? If you have reserved an Illuminations Cruise and are willing to share, please post your date here. Perhaps we can coordinate this and help each other out.

When you post your reply, use the subject box to tell whether you need space (and how many you need) on a cruise or if you have space available and include the dates. I think that might make it a little easier to coordinate a match.

Even with the new changes, you can still get an Illuminations Cruise

There have been some changes made in the Illuminations Cruises. First, they are no longer called Illuminations Cruises, all of the fireworks cruises at WDW are known as "Specialty Cruises" because they cannot guarantee that you will see Illuminations.

There are also daytime "Specialty" cruises. They are booked at two hour intervals beginning at 12 noon. In order to have a chance to see Illuminations, you will need to call 407-WDW-PLAY 90 days in advance and request the 8:00 PM cruise, telling them that you hope to see Illuminations (or the Magic Kingdom fireworks). They will then schedule your cruise for 1/2 hour prior to the beginning of Illuminations.

Why can't they guarantee that you will see Illuminations? These cruises last 45 minutes, only. If, for some reason, Illuminations is delayed, your boat will still return to the marina when 45 minutes have passed, whether or not Illuminations has finished.

So, who has a cruise to share in August?

We are looking for 6 seats on one of the pontoon cruises for
Illuminations on August 3,4, or 5.

I called 1 minute too late and the nice woman
on the other end of the phone said there had already been
50 people before me looking to reserve.

Amy help would be appreciated.

It's great to see you here BuckhornWes, welcome to the DIS.

You should not give up trying to reserve a pontoon to see Illuminations. Try calling every few days. Cancellations are common and frequent.

If you don't find a cruise to share, keep calling even after you arrive in WDW. Sometimes the boats sit idle because someone cancelled. You can snag a cancellation, I did :)

I'm really glad you found us and I hope you can visit the DIS often. Enjoy planning your trip.

Where are the August people? Doesn't anyone have cruises to take this month? Doesn't anyone have room in their boats? Where is everybody?

We've still got a few days to go before we can book ours. Will let you all know if we get through and have room.

I'm looking for space for two on either 8/11 or 8/12
Thanks

also looking for space for 2 any time between 8/16 and 8/22. :)

Tried this morning. No luck!! Maybe another date will work.

I have been calling everyday since Saturday(today is Wednesday) and I have not been able to reserve an Illuminations cruise. This morning alone I was on hold for 18 minutes before anyone picked up and I was using 2 phones just in case. It seems that these cruises are getting as hard to get the a princess breakfast. If anyone has gotten one for any time from August 14th through August 20th my family and I would love to join you. We are 2 adults and 3 children (3 year old, turning 2 on our vacation and a 2 month old).

i'd be interested in sharing a cruise. i'll be in orlando on honeymoon august 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22

I have a cruise booked for August 20th. I have 5 people going, 3 adults and 2 kids (6 and 4). If you want to get in, PM. I'll check PM's over the weekend, let me know how many you have going. Jaysonpbyu and caitycaity, if you are both 2 and 2 (jaysonpbyu, I hope it's just you and the S.O. on your honeymoon ;) ), that just about fills the boat. Let me know.

UPDATE- I have pick up some hitchhikers, the boat is full. Sorry, and good luck.

Hi all. Well, we got one too. Were going to share with gallaj0, but he got his too!!! So, we have 3 of us going, myself, dh and 9 y/o dd. It's on Wed. Aug 20 from Yacht and Beach Club. Anyone up for sharing???? PM me and let me know.

This may be a stupid question, but is Illuminations always at the same time? In August wouldn't it be after 9 o'clock, and therefore after the 8:00pm cruise? Or am I missing some information (possibly latitudinal)?

TIA,
Mort.

According to the CRO, the cruise doesn't start until 8:30; you have to be onboard at 8:15.

I just booked our cruise (sorry no extra room) and the CM said something that has me worried!!!! SHe said they are being instructed to tell people that there may be a media blitz re:Mission SPace and there might be a chance that they may close Epcot at 5 but the boat would still leave the marina anyway! SHe said to call 5 days before and they will know by them but heck.....do I have to reserve the boat for 2 different days in case the reservation I have will not be an "Illuminations" cruise....and I thought I only had to worry about lightning!!!

I reserved for 8/23....and she didnt say that it would definitely happen either....it was kind of like she needed to let us know that the possibility was there!
