Il Pochi il Fiero y Blabbermouths...Magical Reunion FINALLY!!!

We're here and safe! Got a little crazy weather wise but not as bad as they were predicting by us.

Just being busy and celebrating with my dear DH Mark as today is our 20th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe it's been 20 years! I know that is nothing compared to some of the couples on this thread but it is a big milestone for us.

Congratulations!

Congratulations Mark and Mary! 20 years at anything is a milestone!! Enjoy each other EVERY day!

GaRRy - be glad you are in the "HOT" weather. The wind from Mary's area made an appearance here and it's downright chilly! Time to put away the sandals (I know, should have been a while ago but that is the thing I hang on to each Fall).

We are headed to Toronto this weekend to visit our tablemates from our cruise. It is supposed to be even colder there! We are having fun putting together our "Made in Michigan" package to bring to them. You forget what is local til you actual look. Alexa wants to stay and Trick or Treat there. She is convinced that Canadians have different candy than we do. I dread the almost 4 hr drive home afterward. We are going to be one tired family come Monday morning if we stay.

Hope everyone enjoys their Halloween weekend!

Do you and Sam dress up to hand out goodies on Halloween?
I REALLY miss not being in a real neighborhood at Halloween....I'd dress up if we had Trick or Treaters.
:maleficen:hmghost:

WE don't really "Dress up" A halloween T-shirt FranenSTEIN for Sam and perhaps my Minnie Witches hat for me - Hedgie has a witches costume.

We set up a table at the end of the street and invite the adult neighbors - We have pumpkins, lights, chili dinner stuff, and coolers.....We have the patio fire and enjoy the evening. It's fun and we do try to be home for the night.

About now I start wondering if I need to get more treats. I think so (100 pieces will not make it through the night). Last year we had to rob the treat sack of one of the kids. I will supplement with pretzels I think...(I like pretzels).

Alexa may have the right idea, depending on Toronto traditions. We lived in Alberta for almost 2 years - Texas to Alberta, now there's a temperature difference - At least in our community, Red Deer, Halloween was huge! The kids only went down our street and filled their bags - full sized candy bars, snack bags of chips, cans of pop. Kids also trick or treated for UNICEF and collected food for the food pantry. Both UNICEF and the food pantry were memories from childhood I thought had gone by the wayside. I was so glad to see it continued.

The kids favorite candy we could buy in Canada but not here - the european Kindereggs. A chocolate egg with a tiny toy inside.

Note to self - remember to get the change for Unicef (or is it dollars these days). We have kids that still have the little boxes.

Jordan and her friend Noelle are dressing up to answer the door and hand out goodies at Noelle's house. I might go to her house, too. I really miss not being able to see all the little Trick or Treater's.

Garry, glad you made it home safely.

I'm looking forward to the weekend but we have a busy one, as usual.

Bit the bullet & asked my parents to come with us on the cruise in '12. Of course she couldn't give me an answer. I tried to tell her that prices have already gone up since I booked & that she could get their deposit back if they decide not to go. I'll have to call her back this weekend. Should I just put down a deposit for them anyway? I know she'd pay me back. Anyone know if I pay with my Disney Visa if I can get them the OBC for their room as well as mine? It would be a separate ressie.

Anyone ever do a dolphin swim in Cozumel? We're going on another Carnival cruise in May with Bruce's family. Girls are interested in trying that I they should both be old enough & tall enough now.

Hope everyone has a great Halloween tomorrow. I got off easy this year with costumes. Emily's dance recital in the spring was Peter Pan. She was an Indian so she has a dress that she'll wear. We're going to use an old Pocohontas headdress .. will just add more feathers to it to cover the Pocohontas medallion on the front. Took Ashley to Target to find a costume. She picked one really similar to the one Emiliy wore last year - zombie bride. So she agreed that she'll just wear Emily's - yay!

It may have changed since we booked in 2008, but we booked 4 staterooms=4 reservations for last year's 2009 family cruise on our Disney Visa. All the staterooms received the Visa OBC. To make it even more fun, we split out the 4 of us in each stateroom for the repeat cruisers credit which mixed up all of the family units. Thank goodness my dad is a math teacher, he could settle the accounts. :)

For our 2011 cruise with John's family, his dad didn't want to take advantage of our Disney Visa; I can't give you any more updated information than that. John's parents are repeat cruisers and We decided not to mix everyone up this round. Much, much simplier!

Virgil, are you tailgating for the WVU vs Rutgers game?

Can we join you?

Lisa has a recruiting trip to WVU that weekend so we will be in town.

While we were at Food and Wine we attended a wine tasting and tried

MAGICALE brachetto

It is a rose colored sweet sparkling celebration wine form the Piemonte region of Italy.

Apparently, the Magicale is unique to WDW - like the Iron Horse Fairy Tale is.

Next time you are there - try a glass...(I wonder if it is on Disney Cruise Line?)

OK, now I can put the bottle in the wine cooler.

Does it taste like Banfi?

Absolutely! Sorry I missed this earlier - Frances is in Orlando this week for a meeting - and I flew down with her on Sunday morning. We went to Universals Hollywood Horror Nights and then she got to go to Harry Potter World. I came back yesterday and have been busy with work and such. Are you going to the game? We have a great group that we tailgate with and would love to have you join us!

When are you getting in? Care to meet for dinner or even stop by here?

What we know so far is that we fly into PIT late on 12/2. We then spend Friday on campus. Not sure of the schedule they have planned for us. They say Saturday is pretty open so we can enjoy the game and town. It sounds like free time on Saturday.

We fly out of PIT early saunday morning.

We will have a better idea when we get closer, but I'm pretty sure there wil be plenty of opportunity to get together.
