Il Pochi il Fiero y Blabbermouths...Magical Reunion FINALLY!!!

GaRRy - what were YOU doing in CANADA...oh, I see horses...OK, well, that's all right then.

Canada - I bet it is cold there.

Not here...well, not much. I wore a jacket for my walk this morning but then I am a wimp. I was wondering about what wetsuit to wear this weekend.

I just checked the seas. There must be a misprint 12-14 fet. :lmao::lmao::lmao: Are they NUTS? We will see, as I will not be out in those waters.....Nope, not going ta.

Hi everyone, just checking in. I,too, was up in Toronto over Halloween weekend. Met up with our tablemates from the cruise. I am still amazed at the friendship we made in those 5 days. Irene - it WAS cold there! We saw snow flurries on Halloween! Had a ball nonetheless~

I have had a two week old baby in the house for about a week or so. Forgot what interrupted sleep was like. It should only be for another 3 weeks or so. Truth be told, I kind of like having a baby around. They are truly miraculous!

Work is work. Glad to still have a job. Our agency is struggling more and more each day. Our capacity is 70 kids and we are at around 38. Hard to survive on those numbers. I have been looking to see what else I can do with my "talents" but nothing has jumped out at me. Glad to hear someone is working at their DREAM JOB - gives me hope.

Hope all of you are well. Mary, sorry for your loss. I know it is not easy losing someone you care about. I really liked Irene's poem. Beautiful!

On a lighter note, Alexa brought me home a straight A report card. She got high honors! We are so proud of her! I don't remember having that much dedication to school at her age but I won't tell her that!

Diane - You posted about your Food and Wine report....I (insert guilty smilie) have not yet done so, sorry about that...Maybe we can compare notes later.??

Kindle books are $9.99? Are you kidding? :scared1:

Paperbacks, even new, are less...at least I thought so...maybe I need to check the receipt more oftern??? But still, I thought that they were supposed to be cheaper on the electronic media???

I have thought about an Ipad, but you can't sit and read in the tub....or can you?

Still, I could recover space in the library but using electronic media....

Things to think about.....

Hey, maybe I can have dissers hand me downs?:dance3:

The older books for the eReaders are less than $9.99...that's what the newer ones go for. I'd like the convenience of not having to go hunt books down in a bookstore....and we don't have any nearby bookstores.

And yes, you can read them in the tub. Just don't drop it.

Susanne, do you watch little babies often enough to be used to it? I was a nervous wreck when I watched the new grandbaby all by myself. :scared:

Congrats to Alexa!!!! DIS KIDS ROCK!!!

Happy Birthday Marines!

Thanks to Garry, Jay and all the other fine marines who have served this country over the years!

Good Morning All!

Happy Birthday, Marines!

Belated weighing in on the Kindle/iPad debate - I have a Barnes & Noble Nook and I love it - it's compatible with Overdrive Media, the electronic media service most libraries use - so no buying books for me!

Marching season is officially over, but the insanity continues. Maggie made one of the 8th grade basketball teams, team rosters won't be finalized for a few weeks.

Mike after discovering the winter musical will be Music Man, decided that he would like to play his trombone on stage instead of the pit orchestra, signed up for an audition. Suprised us, but ok - we'll roll with it - "Do you realize you also need to sing, dance, and act?" He blew off his audition. The drama teacher tracked him down the next day & called him out of class for his singing audition. She discovered he has a deeper bass voice than most of her choir basses and a natural talent and is strongly urging him to join choir- Audition process back on... last night was the acting and dancing audition. Tried to convince him that dancing was just like marching, coordinated movements of arms and legs in time to the music - he's not buying it. :lmao: He'll know by Monday at the latest.

Monica, the Nook is second in the running. Plus, it might be easier for "Santa" to go buy one than to order the Kindle online. I hear he's a little computer challenged. ;)

BN offers free book Fridays and often discounts or freebies at their cafes. If you take your nook into the store with you coupons will pop up, freebies in the cafe, and even free in-store reading of selected books.

I think with all of the free books, I probably have over 100 books on the Nook, I may not get around to reading them all but, they're free :)-

That said, John likes his iPad, he even has a Nook ap, so he doesn't have to cart around the iPad and the Nook.

That's part of the problem for me, though. Our nearest B&N is soooo far!!
Decisions, decisions..... Maybe I'll just ask for a flannel nightgown.:rotfl:

HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY TO ALL THOSE THAT SERVED OUR COUNTRY!! Jim served in the Air Force!

As for the little babies, Stacey, no I don't get babies often. I try to get them at least school age but how do you say no?? It's all good!

Matthew has today off for Veteran's Day. Apparently Canada has agreed to not attach on national holidays.

He is having a hard time trying to schedule all the free food being offered today. I know it will involve two Applebees.

It's a tough day for him....kind of like eating at both early and late dinning. :thumbsup2

Happy Veterans Day and a great big thank you to all our vets and current service men and women.

Please thank Matt for us, for his supreme sacrifice!! :worship::worship:
And then thank him again, for real.

Thanks to all who wished us well! :)

If you know anyone who wants a house in Orlando (priced way cheaper than we paid for it)....

What a beautiful home Karen! Good luck on selling it and finding a wonderful home back in Ohio. I can see KT's heart is still back there.:rotfl2:(Loved the pictures of her room). We travel to Columbus in February, so Lisa can see what Ohio looks like in the snow I imagine.

First off, Happy Veterans day to all of the vets. Thank you for serving our country.

Mary, sorry to hear that a member of your favorite band lost his life.

Irene, I loved your prayer.

Congrats to the OhioMouse family for the upcoming move! How exciting to be moving home. Will you live in the same area you did before?

Good to see you having the e-book reader discussion. Considering getting Bruce one. Our library lets you check them out too. So, it looks like I'll have to investigate that further. Sounds like from Monica that the Nook is the way to go.
