Il Mulino - Gluten & Dairy Free?

Il Mulino was one of our favorites before I got sick. DH would like to go there on our upcoming trip. THere are actually several tasty looking dishes that look inherently GF/DF...... but.....

I did a search here & google, but didn't find any info. Does anyone here have any input?

I have no experience with the gluten free aspect of the menu, but our waiter did speak to the chef who made my pasta sauce without cream. I can have cheese OK, but any trace of dairy milk or cream results in a really bad reaction and a dish I wanted had just a little cream in it. Some dishes they couldn't alter, but they seemed very accomodating.

I did see some whole wheat pastas on the menu, and DH remembers seeing something about gluten free on it too. I'd call the restaurant directly and ask, but I'm pretty sure they had some GF options.

I wound up talking to special diets & went ahead with the reservation. There really are quite a few choices that should be GF/DF unless they are using something with hidden sources. As long as they are careful about X-contam, I should be fine. Special Diets says they should be fine.

If you spoke with Special Diets then that is the best situation.

I have a dairy allergy so I love going to Disney just because there's things I can eat there that I normally can't anywhere else!

We usually speak with Special Diets before we go and let them know of any ADR's. When making the ADR, we note the allergy and also confirm it when checking in. As soon as we are seated, we tell the watier and they immediately get the Chef to talk to us. It's really nice because then you can be sure the information doesn't get lost in the shuffle since you are talking to the person that actually prepares the food.

Just let the Chef know and they will let you know what is okay and what can be modified to be made ok.
