Is it preferable to get seats nearer to the front and on the floor, or would you get a better overall view by sitting in a balcony seat?

In the Pittsburgh venue, I'm finding that the best floor seats I can find are like row R on left or right center (that's about 20 rows back from stage) and the best balcony seats overhang by about that far back too. For example, the balcony overhang starts at row M, and the seats I'm finding correspond to floor row R, but they're on the first tier balcony.

Of course, all the very good seats are on the broker sites, but I refuse to purchase from them out of general principle.

I've seen Lion King twice, both from the floor about where you are talking about. They were great seats and made you feel part of the production

I'm so excited about it! I thought that any seat might be good since the production is so big.

I got my tickets -- ended up with Row T on the floor.

I've seen it twice as well. In Cleveland we were in the 5th or 6th row..and it was incredible. They come through the isles some, so being close is really cool!! I would do floor over balcony. The first time we were in the center of the floor and it was still very cool. You'll have a great time!:woohoo:

Oh, and I have to ask -- did it make you cry?

I am NOT a crier. I didn't cry to see Titanic or Braveheart or any other movie that should make you cry. I don't cry at funerals. I don't cry when I'm happy. I just don't cry.

But seeing Festival of Lion King at WDW? I'm a sniveling idiot. There I sit with tears running down my face. "Circle of Life" comes up on my CD? I'm crying. I just watched the little preview video on the Lion King website and I'm bawling like a little baby.:rotfl2:

What IS it about the Lion King? :confused3 :lmao:

that is part of the magic of Disney ;)

I would go with floor. I ahve found that if you call the benedum, you get better seats..(they charge a bit of a fee though). row R isn't really that far back. You don't want extreme sides(like 2 seats of an isle). We are going Feb 10th and by calling(about a month ago) ended up with row A orchestra R.

DH's coworker wanted us to go on that day, but that's my son's birthday. We're going on the 6th.

Enjoy!

Those are good seats. We were limited to ONLY the Saturday 8pm shows, so the best I could do was 2 seats in row w and 2 in row x. We grabbed them, that was a week ago! We will be at the 2/16 show...we'll do Max and Erma's before, can't wait! I pray it doesn't snow, though.

I was worried about snow too. My birthday is 2/11 and it always snows around then.

DD and I just went to Max & Erma's on Sunday. They make the best burgers. I really miss their potato salad though. Did you ever try that?

my ds's b-day is 2/19 and we usually go to Disney on ice around that time. I think it was 2 years ago, we got a huge snow storm when Nemo was in Cleveland... but we went anyway:rolleyes1 just very carefully! We live about 80 miles south of Clev.

I would do floor over balcony. First, as the actors/animals come down the aisles, being that close to the costumes is incredible (particularly the elephant). Also, being close enough to see the performer's on stage faces and expressions was enough to even entrance my theater-hating husband.

The Garbage Burger is the BEST!!! Everything but the kitchen sink!!

Anyway, back to your post. We are going Feb 15 and we are in row M seats 114 and 115 or 115 and 116 (can't remember). We both work downtown and this is a Friday night so it works out well for us. Plus if it snows, our street has a trolley stop on it (Casswell in Bethel Park) so we'll take that and have no worries.

Glad you got on the floor. We saw the show in Denver. It was excellent and at our venue, the closer the better. We were in row 8 on the floor. You will have a fabulous time!

No I haven't. I fell in love with one of their salads...I can't remember the name of it...but I just LOVE it! I am embarrassed to say that I get it EVERY time! I need to force myself to order something else.

My husband will drive in ANYTHING:scared1: We WILL get there...I just am kinda hoping for a nice bit of weather!

Oh wow...lucky you! (both the good seats, AND having the Trolley!)

Oh, lucky you! We finally saw the show in London back in March--makes me wish I had seen it when it played in Chicago way back when. That was one of the best shows--period--I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot of shows.
BTW--I cried like a baby during the show.
Hmm--I may have to search for tickets around here--I think it's coming to Milwaukee.
Have a great time! :)
