If your spouse was sick at Disney?

I was battling serious morning sickness on our Dec trip (more like 24/7 sickness) one day we had to leave Epcot ASAP and DH came with me. The other nights I also packed it in early and he stayed out. Even went to PI one night. I was fine with that since I was sleeping at 9pm.

DH got sick several years ago and wanted me to go to the parks and leave him to rest. I went out for a while, but came back to check on him. He felt better the next day.

I got extremely sick on check out day in 2004. We couldnt stay at the hotel--no rooms. They would not give us late check out either. So--DH stayed with me in the lobby, where I am sure I ruined the experience for anyone unlucky enough to come in my direction!

If I had been able to stay in the room, I would have insisted that he go out and enjoy the day.

OK, so this has happened to me twice in WDW. The first on our HONEYMOON and the second on our first anniversary trip! The honeymoon, it was just one day, and my DH toughed it out. This last time around, he was not feeling well two nights in a row. I used that time to run amock while he rested during EMHs. He always calls me the Disney commando anyway, so this gave me time to get it out of my system.

My DH felt sick at Epcot after eating in at the Itlay rest., he thought I was going to be mad- but hey- If your sick your sick. We went back to room to let him lie down. I took our DD to the pool to give him some time to feel better.
When we, my DD and I, went back up to the room he still wasn't feeling good. He told us to just go shopping- I said NO PROBLEM!!! The DD and I stayed out to about 1am at DTD,

This happened to my family when we came to the GF for our dream vacation. My dh got food poisoning and was very sick. We were staying on concierge main building. When we were at Ak he said he wasn't feeling well and he was going back to the hotel. He told me to stay in the park with my ds and dd and he would see us later. So we stayed for awhile and when we were to worried about him to stay anymore we went back to the hotel. When we got back to the room he was asleep. Well of course 2 little ones can not stay quiet for very long, so dh got woke up. He then told us how the mousekeeper heard my husband in the room, knocked on the door and helped him through a hard time by staying with him, ordering him some hot tea and chicken soup and as he put it held his head when he was sick. She stayed with him until he fell asleep then left a note with her name, and the phone number of a local doctor in case he needed one. When we got back to the room he was still to weak and tired to go out but he insisted that we go to dinner and have a good time. I was so amazed and thankful to this person who we did not know and to her kindness that I called her manager and asked if there was anything we could do to thank her. It was a nice feeling to know that the staff is so caring of their guests. I did take my kids to dinner but came right back, even though I worried the whole time. The kindness of this person made it easier to go out this time, but I probably would not have went if he wasn't feeling better.

I'm still laughing at your post. I definitely don't keep to the motto "you go, we all go" at all. Hey - why pull down the whole group. I'd kindly point out the route to the bathroom, make sure he had some medicine and water, tuck him in, pat his head  and make sure "the door doesn't hit me where the good Lord split me" - you know what I'm saying. If the tables were turned, how dare he think of leaving me behind! I'm his wife for crying out loud!! The mother of his children! If I'm sick it's probably because I'm run down from all the planning leading up to the trip not to mention all the running around and packing I did for everyone while looked at the occasional map or camera. But it would take me coughing up a lung to keep me from going to the parks. I hope I'm not jinxing myself.

My dh actually came down with a bit of a cold during our last trip. He toughed it out and went to the parks. We didn't wait months for a vacation to hang around the hotel!

I bought the most expensive sudafed I'd ever seen in my life and off we went. He actually felt better as the day went on and we kept busy.

i would leave him in the room
i would suggest that he needed his rest and me being out of the room
would make it quieter for him to rest :thumbsup2

I was sick for most of our 10 day WDW trip! I even ended up going to the ER! I was misdiagnosed in the ER and was given pain meds. Found out, upon arriving home, that I was walking around WDW w/an inflamed appendix. I couldn't ride many of the bumpy rides (ToT, R&RC, SM, etc.) b/c every jostle hurt so bad!!! I was given pain pills and they made me so tired!

I would often "sit things out" and send Daxx and DS9 on their own. Also, I had to break for naps (b/c of the meds), so they'd go on w/o me.

So, after having "been there, done that", I vote for sending everyone off on their own!
