In every walk of life there will be disrespectful people. A game will never make a person behave badly or disrespectfully. The people who would play games in memorials are the same people who would bellow in memorials. It makes me crazy when I see a game held responsible for a persons behavior.

We had the same problem when cell phones came out. Especially when texting became normal.

People will realize that they need to walk and stay aware.

So I am off to download the game. (I know there is a gym at my church, where I work.)

I went to the park today(Balboa Park in SD) and people were walking around on their phones, sometimes running towards nothing ...I watched one person fall off the curb and hurt herself......it was like watching the walking dead in real time...lol...they were all playing PM GO....it was really funny...I said to my friend...well at least it got them off the couch...lol

Now admittedly I'm not super into this game. I'm more taking the kids out and they play. It is on my phone so between going out with them and playing around with it on my phone I think I have a decent idea of how it works.
One thing I can't figure out is why people would be running, chasing things to the point they are falling off curbs or running into traffic. Yeah a lot of people are looking g down while walking and stuff but some of the descriptions ( mostly criticizing the game) have people running around without thought. Its not like the Pomemon run away and you chases them, at least not in the sense that you'd be actively following them.

If you are still playing on the original download, you should update the game asap. The original download was terribly insecure. But a patch has been created and the newer versions have fixed many of the security issues.

I think it is a great game. Getting off the couch can never be a bad thing. I mentioned in the other thread that I thought it would have a short lifespan and I still think that might be a possibility. While 99.99% of people can play responsibly, there is that 0.01% that will be hurt, robbed or assaulted and they will sue. It has been out a week and there is already one armed robbery and the car crash above attributed to playing the game and a questionable story of a child being hit and killed by a car (googling can find no mention of a boy hit while playing.) But there will be more idiots who don't know better than to look up from their phone when crossing a street or playing while driving or not being safe and going to a lure and if these people decide to sue in our sue happy world, it might spell trouble for the game. If the developer starts having to put in modifications to the game to make it idiot proof due to idiot lawsuits, it is going to suck the fun out of the game.

Now off to download it (was waiting for the security patch) so I can join in the fun.
