If your playing Pokemon I'm judging you...

Except I'd also feel bad for the driver who couldn't avoid the so-called Darwin Award winner. It wouldn't be their fault, but they would still feel horribly guilty. I know I'm looking very carefully lately for people crossing, etc. while I'm driving.

I don't think it's a reason to disallow the game, though! A ton of good is coming out of it, and everyone just needs to be aware.

Oh, I think you know.;) Now jevs and Goofy Disney Dad have repeatedly asked you to stop. I know you are just a little bit salty because you haven't caught a Pikachu yet or taken over a gym, but I will help you and we can all just put this behind us. :)

:rotfl:

I don't understand that brand of English ^

I do know that I haven't been to the gym all week and my gym instructor will have words with me. So will my body afterwards.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Now we are even. Sometimes I don't understand your Australian lingo.

Turns out my church was a Pokemon Gym.....they gave lemonade to anyone who came there. :)

My church had this out yesterday!

And this just inside the door.

The building has two Poke Stops. One is the sign in front and the other is a plaque by a side door.

This little guy showed up at the dinner. I guess he wanted some taco salad too!

Yeah, and the Holocaust Museum was another place. And things like that just totally make sense. People shouldn't be running around places like that playing games.

On the other hand, I totally see local businesses wanting to be listed as spots on the game! There was a report about a pizza place that had seen a 75% increase in business since the game started because of foot traffic. Just got an email from our local zoo offering a discount on annual memberships with a discount code "Pokemon" and advertising how many PokeStops and Gyms were located there. I can actually see this becoming another revenue stream for the game developers. Businesses pay to be listed as host sites! Think of the traffic driven to your site by the game....

I don't know if our zoo would do that - we had 2 people break into the Toledo zoo last night chasing Pokemon!!

Don't judge. If you don't want to play, then fine. To each their own. I don't play, but if others do, as long as they're not coming in my bedroom at two AM looking for a Pokemon, it's none of my business.

My son and I have had a ball with it, and have walked miles and miles the last couple of days so I told my dh to download it in hopes he might get some exercise too. He lives in Boston most of the time.
Told me tonight there are 2 pokestops in his building, he caught dozens of Pokemon in his apartment and he can use a Poke Gym from his toliet. Exercise fail. I guess city players have it easy!

My son and I just spent 45 minutes driving around town. No we weren't walking. It is dark outside and I have lupus.

But we had a great time. I kept pulling into parking lots. And he was working both of our phones.

Oh, and by the way, he is 20, soon to be 21. This morning, we went for a short walk. And tomorrow we are heading to my work.

It is great that we have something to do together.

That is SO awesome!! What a sweet and fun thing for your church to do.

There are some local businesses here using the game to bring in customers by offering discounts to players or using lures at their Pokestops.

Stop liking what I don't like!!!

That's being said, my DH has been complaining about Pokemon folks for days now. Not because he doesn't like the game, but because he already plays a game called Ingress. Ingress uses the game engine that the Pokemon Go thing is based on and they have all the same "portals". He's annoyed that there's all these kids cluttering his Ingress haunts.

I'm also an Ingress player and laughed when I saw that all the Pokemon stops/gyms are Ingress portals. Now I take/hack portals, recharge resonators and then switch to Pokemon Go and get items and catch Pokemon. Can't beat 'em, join 'em, I guess. :D
Ingress portals are supposed to be of historical nature or have something interesting and unique about them (although some make me wonder why they were approved), so I think it's great that kids are now walking around town maybe seeing parts of their towns they never knew existed.

It's a safety issue.
O.k. I only got up to the third page but my friend wrote on her Facebook page that her teen didn't realize it tells you where the screen name is located. Her teen and a friend were walking and a random stranger stopped using their screen names.

It tells you when you choose a name that it will be visible to other players.

I am not judging anyone for playing BUT I do think it is funny(not really) that people are getting ran over for not paying attention and walking into traffic like idiots and that some are getting robbed cause they are too dumb not to be lured by predators. I don't want anyone to be hurt but I do hope they learn their lesson and pay attention. Sure you get kids and adults off the sofa or bed and outside "exercising". But their face is so paralyzed by their phones to even look up and enjoy it.
