If you were in control of Disneyland...

DCA
I would, though, retheme the basic bordwalk into a more Victorian theme, as they are doing.

Great Idea......& add some shade. :thumbsup2

Definately a water show in the bay, but one that fits the theme, weve got enough Mickey Water Shows in Disneyland.

Another Great Idea....a smaller SoCal version of the Epcost show (using water &/or fireworks would be cool.

NO CARS LAND! THAT NAME SOUNDS DUMB, AND DOESNT FIT THE THEME!!!!!

Agreed.

I would add a land that minimizes a smaller version of Epcot, Featuring Mission Space and The Huge Dome, But a test track starting inside of the dome to minimize the space that Test Track requires.

I forgot about Test Track....it might make a nice addition to Tomorrowland (sitting next to Mission Space as it does in Epcot....perhaps updating it by emphasizing "green" technology?

Instead of the whole Worlds Showcase, id add an exihbit showcasing all of the different pavillions, with samples of cuisine and customs.

Another great idea....I like it better than my idea of a collection of restaurants in DTD. Have rotating pavillians with food & cultures from different lands....& invite citizens of the countries to man them, just like WS. :thumbsup2

Id add a Rock'n Roller Coaster Near the Queue of The Alladin Show, which id simply relocte to the inside of the building.

I don't care where they locate it.....as long as the bring it to DLR. :hippie:

DLAND

To relive the congestion in Fantasyland, id add two dark rides themed as The Lion King and Pochahauntus on the Back Enterance to Fronteriland.

I like that....or just put the Lion King show there  .

The outside of Space Mountain, In the center id add some form entertainment, either a band playing, or a large sculpture of a half-earth jetting our of the floor that would really be a tv screen.

There's an "outside que" at SM? (the hound family always FPs SM so we power walk by the outside que & are inside within a min. ;) :rotfl:

Lots of cool ideas.

One other thought regarding my Pizza Joint & the Brown Derby.....put the Pasta Restaraunt above one of the buildings around the main st. Plaza (maybe behind the Cinema?) With a huge balcony for Fireworks viewing.

Same goes for the Brown Derby (maybe above or near the current Monsters or Muppets building)....with a wrap around balcony to enjoy DL fireworks, & DCA parades & future fire/water attractions.

(If Walt had been alive...we'd already have one of those restaurants in place.)

Here's my nerdy imput for the day!

I'd love an outdoor stage, possibly they could do this at the Fantasyland theater, where broadway musicals are performed daily. They've already got music like The Music Man and Oklahoma playing on Main Street...why not have the full shows! They could have different shows for different times of day so people could see more than one thing but the actors would only have to perform once a day. For example, they could have the Music Man in the morning, Oklahoma in the afternoon, and Hello Dolly in the evening...and on weekends they could perform Disney musicals like Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins. I would LOVE that.

I've always wanted to see a rollercoaster dark ride themed to getting to Yzma's secret lab from "The Emperor's New Groove" You could even incorporate something like the mirror section from HM in it, but have you looking at yourself wearing a lab coat and goggles like they do. I can just imagine hearing during the ride Kronk's voice saying "Yzma! Put your hands in the air!" :lmao:

It's such a good movie, and really nothing about it at the whole place!

I completely agree with this! I even remember when I was seeing The Emperor's New Groove for the first time thinking about what a great ride the lab scene could be made into.

The first thing Id do is put great moment with Mr. Linclon back in the opera house in its orgianal form...with Paul Frees narration and the Gettysburg address...I would put hall of Presidents in DCA. and find somewhere to build a small Animal Kingdom (might have to have the city us imminate domian to get the hotles to give up the land...but whatever works.)

I'm glad I'm not the only geek who wants a Hall of Presidents at DLR. :D

I also want the Flying Saucers! Being on a human-sized air hocket table sounds like so much fun.

With much imagineering a new Inner Space could also be quite good.

I forgot which Disney brass recently said this...but he said the flying saucers would be back, but in DCA. I imagine they will also look a bit different and perhaps be a bit safer than the old version.

It is amazing how many of us miss Inner Space. I wish there would be a new modern version of the ride. Or how about some nostalgia ride that pays tribute to all the old rides that are no more. :thumbsup2

I would add a Crush's Coaster type ride like the one at Disneyland Paris, it is my new favourite Disney ride. And put in an Alice In Wonderland maze for the kids like the one at DLP, that is a really well themed attraction when it is maintained well.

I would run the Electrical Parade all year long (on weekends at least) and also show Remember more nights than it does off season. I would get rid of Princess Fantasy Faire and put in a live show again. I really miss having the Snow White show at DL. Maybe bring Beauty and the Beast over from DHS in Orlando, that one has been there for awhile, they need a new show there, DL needs a show, everybody's happy.

And I would add a Sci Fi Dine In at DCA.

Bring back the People Mover.

Put a Will Turner animatronic in POTC. Johnny Depp is fine, Orlando Bloom, well that's another story!

Beauty and the Beast was in Fantasyland Theater.

I would like to see all of the closed restaurants and attractions space used again. There is nothing worse than empty space at Disneyland/DCA.

You know, I didn't even know that! Well they should just put some sort of a live show at Disneyland. That's not taking anything away from Aladdin, but two parks can definitely host two shows. I never saw Snow White not packed in the couple of years it was there.

And they should replace BATB at MGM with something new. That one has been there awhile.

I love this thread, it really gets you thinking.

Really all of Tomorrowland should be able to be run on renewable energy. It's Tomorrowland!!

I don't think that any one movie should have a whole land named after it - ie: Carsland, but in the same note I don't think that a name like Radiator Springs would do either, yes it's a better name, but it limits what can go in there. If you want to stick to that sort of Cars theme, how about calling the land Route 66? Or something like that. That way it still fits in with the DCA theme, and you could move all of the already themed Route 66 things in there, and put better use to the spots that they come from.

I'd like to see all of the fake buildings turned into real buildings. I think they might be doing this already, but it's such a better use of the space.

I'd like to expand Frontier land, NOS, Adventureland and Critter County so that it's easier to tell when you're crossing from one to another. Make the boarders more definite.

I'd also love to see Muppets 3D go animatronic, it's a great show, but my favourite part of it was when the animatronics were doing there thing. I would definately not shut this down, Mickey's Philharmagic can go elsewhere.

I have to disagree with a PP post - sorry I can't remember who it was, but you know who you are ;) who said that they aren't fans of movie themed rides. I love these rides, I think there should be more of them. They don't have to fit in with the movie plot, but they're fun.

Another PP suggested a ride that pays homage to previous rides that aren't there any more. I think this is a great idea, it could be in a ride the same as Soarin, but your big screen is showing the past ride like you're on it. That way instead of gliding - like you do in soarin, the ride copies how you'd move if you were on the old time ride... 100 rides in one!!

Ok, that's all I can think of for now, more people will have to post their ideas so I can come up with more!

I like the ideas about rides based around villans and or a water park maybe turn half of DCA into a villan based water park! Think of all the possibilities!

Also I would either make club 33 available to the public or make another resturant that seces the same food for the public. I hear the food and experience is amazing and I don't know anyone with a membership but I want to try it so bad! It would probably be expensive to fine there but I think people would be willing to pay it for the experience

ooh wonderful question..
I would add a teens only club in down town disney.
I would make sure we would have a cruise ship avail to add on to our packages.
I would open the 3rd gate and have a water park next to it with a hotel that is as elegant as the tokyo hotels!!!
I would change the name California adventure to Disney's Pixar studios.
I would make a tinkerbell ride and area/land (pixie hollow) complete with character greetings/and shops, play area, and a broadway style Rock musical show( i happen to looooove tinkerbell she in an icon ya know)
I would add 2 more value hotels but really make them value...

ooh my goodness i could go on and on...

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

1. I would somehow aircondition the outside. I don't know how this would happen, but if I have and an unlimited budget, I would figure it out! Lol, you guys know what I mean about how nice it is when you walk by and airconditioned building and right out front it is cool!

2. For bad weather days, I would create a dome that could go straigt over disneyland to protect from rain/wind.

3. All the drinking fountains would be icy cold.

4. Add in an epcot like area

5. More ROLLERCOASTERS!

HMMMMMMMMMMM, why cant I think of anything else???
