If you waitlisted a 2BR for BLT and GOT it, post here!

Ok, so clearly I'm hoping for some Pixie Dust for our upcoming trip - now just 4 short weeks away! We have waitlisted for a 2BR BLT STANDARD view room and have been on the waitlist since exactly 7-months from our trip. I called at 9:30am on May 5th for our Dec. 5th arrival...and go the waitlist.

Anyone know exactly how many Standard View rooms there are at BLT? I understand that of course it will vary depending on if it's dedicated or lockoff, but I wonder really what are my chances?

We will obviously survive if we must stick with our current reservation at SSR, but I'd love to give BLT a try!

I'd just love to hear of some success stories, especially if you had a 2BR Standard Waitlisted, and when you learned you got the room!

Exactly at 7 months we went on a waitlist for a BLT dedicated two bedroom for either standard or lake view for January 6 to 11, 2010, which covers the Marathon weekend period. In a month we had the Lake view dedicated. We were still on a standard view waitlist, again for dedicated until the end of October, when I cancelled the waitlist because now we are in the no bank time since we have a March UY. I felt there was no sense in saving points if I couldn't bank them.

So, I suppose that it could come through for you, but we're past 30 days, so most people who were going to cancel, have because now their points would be in holding. I'll send you some pixie dustand wish for the best!

Not a 2BR, but we've been on a waitlist for a BLT 1BR 12/30-01/04 right at 9am 7 months out & I managed to get all nights by calling occassionally, except 12/31. We're currently booked at ASMu, but hoping for some pixie dust also. Good luck! I've seen some waitlist success stories here, but almost nothing from BLT.

Edited to add: According to Webmaster Doc: The breakdown of the views will reportedly be Standard View - 11%, Lake View - 69% and MK view - 20%.
So it looks like you might have a better chance with a Lake View request? Like I said I got almost the whole waitlist by calling so you might also try that approach.

Thanks everybody. I figured it was worth a shot to ask. I'll probably start calling this week just fo any other availability to see what happens. I guess it can't hurt.

wdrl has been tracking when BLT has done declarations (points sold and units with contracts assigned to them). If past history is any indication, they are at the level where they have declared more rooms at BLT.

Hopefully they will have another declaration this week and your WL will come through.

I booked a standard view one bedroom at BLT at 11 months out. January 23-30, 2010 is when we are staying. I was waitlisted for a dedicated 2 bedroom standard view. I could have gotten a lake view or MK view, but i wanted standard. Anyway, about one month later we got the letter in the mail saying we were booked for a 2 bdr dedicated standard view. I called and confirmed. I was pleasantly surprised. When I was origionally waitlisted, i was told that the possiblity to getting my request was very low because I wanted a dedicated 2bdr, not just a onebedroom/studio combo. Anyway, pixie dust coming your way.
