If you have had a snake in your house...

Memphis, TN and I've NEVER had one. Appalling to think of it!! (KNOCK ON WOOD!!! Eek!)

Then again, a friend in a suburb whose house backs up to a natural area has had awful snakes in her pool and garage.

I live in Florida. I've lived here for five years. I've not had a snake in my house. I had a frog in my toilet, but no snakes. There are snakes outside. I have one that lives in my flowerbed, but he doesn't bother me. I don't tend to have bugs either. Some will tell you that you can't live in Florida and not have bugs in your house. That's not true. I have an exterminator treat my house inside every six months. No bugs!

Huntsville AL. here. We had one in the house but it was a very small king snake. Not poisonous but DW said she would be at her mothers until I got it out of the house. I would stay far from here if the cost of living wasn't so great and the people weren't so great and the place wasn't such a great place to live. :confused3

I don't know why I read threads about snakes, rodents and various other nasties before going to sleep. :scared1:

We live in NC on the coast. Had several 'outside' sightings of snakes but this is the first year one found its way inside. A little tiny black snake. I am pretty sure one of the dogs brought it in. I do not like snakes inside or out.

My brother had a snake in his basement last year.....mid Michigan. :scared1:

Four years in Florida and no snakes in the house or garage, but one small one on the driveway. If what we're told is correct, about the only places you won't have snakes are Hawaii and Ireland.

Love2scrap,
No offense, but I'll take snakes any day over snow!! Ugh! I can't handle that cold Minnesota climate. :)

We had two snakes in our last house, but no snakes or rodents have ever made it inside our new house. Truly, as bad as a snake in the house sounds, it beats the heck out of living in a cold climate. And, you could have both. Because, if a mouse can get inside, so can a snake! :scared1:

Eleven years ago, when we lived in Texas---a snake got in our fish tank. Poisonous too!!

It came in the house though a tiny hole (quarter size) at the bottom of the front door. It slid about 10 feet to the tank and then somehow got up the table the tank was on and got inside!!!

The answer is to get a cat. No more snakes!!!
