If you have DAS what do you get more for having Genie+ or LL?

I can't quite figure this out. It doesn't seem there's anything to gain by adding Genie+ and/or LL if you already have DAS.

What am I missing here?

More access to attractions in a given time period - you can have a DAS and a Genie+ return time at the same time. Also, some DAS return times may be too long, and a LL time may get you on earlier.

Basically, it depends on how you do attractions, you can hold all of the following at once (and even have overlapping return times, allow for multiple rerides of the same attraction with minimal waits between):
  1. DAS Return Time
  2. Advanced DAS Return Window 1
  3. Advance DAS Return Window 2
  4. Genie+ Return Window
  5. Individual Lightning Lane Return Window 1
  6. Individual Lightning Lane Return Window 2
  7. If your Genie+ Return Window is more than 2 hours away, you could also hold a second Genie+ Return Window
Now each of these have their own caveats, but you could potentially have 7 return times at once under certain circumstances. For us when we used MaxPass at DL, it was great, because we would get to the FP return, scan in at our time and get a return time for another and could have a DAS return time as well, so between them, never really had to wait long for any attraction.

Another advantage is many times the return window for an attraction will be sooner than the wait time, for example with Maxpass at Buzz, one time, we went on it, the return time was immediate with a 60 minute standby line.....never did figure that one out, as even the free paper FPs were for immediate boarding, just scan your ticket at the machine and go straight on, yet people waited in the standby queue and at DL, that isn't a very exciting queue until the last few minutes when you are inside.

Thanks for this. My daughter is DAS but my husband rides things she does not. So having the option to get him LL$ for thrill rides is a great option in a group where people have different needs!

I have added Genie+ to our stay in January. It may not be needed, but I prefer to get in and out of the parks. The more we can do in a shorter period the better. I would love to hear if anyone has used both and how it has gone. I have been stocking the Tip Board to see if there is a way to create a bit of a plan or at least see which rides are best for the Advanced DAS and whether we will pay for the Ind LL.

I plan to add G+ for at least our MK day even with the DAS so we can make the most of the wait periods for our DAS selections. I've been checking the tip boards and you can usually, for the non-super popular rides, can get a G+ pass for within 5-10 minutes so we will use our DAS on big attractions with long wait times and then use the G+ for in between. We plan to do Disney land by land to help save my sister's (the one with the DAS) energy from excessive walking so we plan to utilize G+ and DAS to try to do as much as we can before moving to the next land.

I could definitely see the advantage of G+ with DAS as MK… the other parks, I’m not sold on yet (with or without DAS!!).

Exactly! I think Im only going to do it for MK and not our other park days, doesnt seem like its really beneficial at that point. Id rather use that extra money for snacks while we wait for our DAS return times!

I have been trying to figure this out for myself as well. So far, from what I can tell, Genie+ is useful to people who can stay in a park for longer periods of time or that can stack rides at a second park if they plan to hop because they get to ride more rides. It does seem more useful at some parks than others (like MK that has more rides with some lower waits), but I wonder if that will even change if you are going during a really busy time like week before Thanksgiving or Christmas? Unfortunately, I can only be in a park for 3-4 hours max earlier in the day and can sometimes return to a park after dinner for maybe 1.5-2 hours. For people like me, it seems that ILL$ (especially for Remy) may work better because I assume you can pick a time close to the 2 advance passes and do one DAS return time and thus get 4 rides done in around 3 hours?? Maybe I can get one more return time to use either during the day or for later that night if I'm up to it so I get 5 rides. This is the strategy I plan to use when I'm there in 2 weeks, but I would like to see more data on using Genie+ along with DAS especially during more crowded times like around Thanksgiving because that might change my strategy for my trip the week before Christmas since we will be traveling with someone who hasn't been to Disney before and thus will want more rides. If the parks are a lot more crowded, it seems like all the Genie+ LL times will be too late in the day for me?? Maybe the stacking for a second park would work if we did the first ride at the end of the window and the last at the beginning? I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on what strategies they plan to use if they can't be in a park for long periods, although I'm sure opinions might change as we all see more reports coming out from other people using Genie+ and ILL$!
