Luckily, we have had enough time for both! My 2nd trip with my niece was better planned for autographs, and they had more FP's, so we didn't have to wait much.

When she was 6, 4 years ago, Rapunzel was quite a wait and I couldn't say no! Of course, I was the only one who waited in line!

I would choose rides but my last trip we mostly did characters. It was all about what my daughter wanted and she wanted to meet characters. So that's what we did, our trip revolved around characters and that was okay with me. We did do some rides though, I can't imagine Disney with no rides at all.
