If you had to choose characters or rides

Well, at MK definitely rides! I love meeting characters, but I'm not passing up Splash and 7DMT and Teacups and Small World and...

Now if you said Epcot, definitely characters, because meeting Joy and Sadness is a priority for me this year.

This is a really tough question! The adventurer in me is saying rides, rides, rides!!! But the mom in me is saying well....part of our trip last year was spent hunting down characters with my older son (it was good mommy and me time) while my hubby took my toddler off to rest back at the hotel. Anyways I loved hearing my older son talk and laughing with the characters about how he couldn't believe his younger brother was so afraid of the characters. LoL it made me laugh Bc my older son just couldn't understand it...he had a ton of awesome interactions with the characters and that's where all the memories were made lol...a ride is a ride and it's the same ride no matter how many times u ride it, but u never get the same reactions or interactions with the characters.

I didn't go to MK until college, so characters weren't important. And back then, it was easy to chance upon characters roaming around.

My kids never cared all that much about meeting characters either.

I love meeting the characters. But, there's only one Peoplemover out there, so I'd have to say Rides.

We had a day like this 3 years ago....it was a simple choice really. We only went on It's a small world. All of our other time was spent looking for princesses. And worth every minute!

Too funny. Our boys went home early with grandma our last trip. So what did our DD want to do? Hunt down every princess in all the parks the last 2 days. She had a princess autograph book to fill. We never found Pocahontas at AK and had missed the cut off for Sofia at DHS. So she has that high up on our next trip's list. I will always remember how excited she was meeting each princess. I loved just watching her as she didn't know they were just teens dressing up. How long will that last, I don't know but when the belief is gone the rides will still be there. So yes for now characters.

Rides, hands down! I personally could care less about meeting characters. My daughter likes too though, so we always work in as many as we can, but no way would I only do that and no rides.

Rides. I have never been that into meeting characters. It's cute for a quick photo op, but we never stand in long lines or use a fastpass for it. Thank goodness my kids never cared that much either.

Rides for sure. We've never been interested in standing in line to meet characters. We enjoy the opportunity if we happen upon one, but won't stand in line for them.

I've never done a day without some of both, so it seems like a tough choice! I've waited up to an hour for rides, and done some waiting for characters, but I don't think ever an hour. It would not feel right, but I guess I'd go to a park and only ride rides, but would probably never do a full day with only characters.

ETA: you give me a free ticket and a mission to do only certain rides or only certain characters, I'll totally do either and have a blast!

After you have been on a few Disney cruises the answer is clear. Rides. No reason to wait for characters. Although we love Park Fare for Cinderella characters because they are funny and spend a lot of time. And the character breakfast at aulani. Not many characters but very interactive.

Rides, but we only meet characters if we happen to wander up to one who doesn't have a long line. DD has never had much of an interest in characters...she even asked me NOT to schedule any character breakfasts on our next trip.

My medical history picked this - characters.

I go to theme parks to hang out with the family and friends who are going on rides. I can't go on many myself. (Those that I can aren't usually that fun...)

At least with a character at the end of the line I get to do something With most rides, I wait in line, and then chicken exit.

Disney does have a lot more rides than most theme parks, but until I go with young children, they aren't the things people in my group like to go on.

I've done both - character only days, ride challenge days - and the characters were far more satisfying. They offer a new experience every time, where the rides are always the same

Definitely rides. If it was a really big deal to me to meet characters, also, I'd schedule a breakfast for the day we are leaving at Chef Mickey's (or Ohana, Cape May Cafe, or 1900 Park Fare).

If Characters includes every single Character that has ever existed in the park, then I am choosing Characters, hands down.

If it's just the sub-par selection they have now, then it's going to be rides.

Characters. I don't think I would go to Disney as often as I do if the rides were the big thing for me.

The 2 last Times we had photopass and Go at all characters We can meet. The next Time we Will focus on rides. I just keep Mickey for The last day because it's Mickey!
