If you find SOAT claustrophobic, would you find MS unbearable?

MS is definitely close and closed-in quarters...and I can't say it is worth the time. I don't get claustrophobic, but I did not find it enjoyable...and we did the spinning side with G-forces even. I don't know what people see in it to be honest.

I'm good on most rides, however MS pushed me over the edge. In fact I hated everything about it. Being in such a confined space sent my anxiety levels through the roof.

For me, Sum of All Thrills was worse for motion sickness and claustrophobia.

Several years ago DD and I got trapped inside (had to wait for maintenance to come let us out). I was so motion sick I had to focus hard to refrain from vomiting inside the capsule and when the ride got stuck, the lights and fan went off so it was completely dark and super hot. I have not been on since.

I have done Mission Space many times, but I'm at the point now where I plan to skip it. I'm glad I experienced it, but it's not worth the claustrophobic feeling and the motion sickness anymore.

That would have been AWFUL. It's so weird because I have never been claustrophobic before, but SOAT just sent me into major panic mode when they lowered the hood--I was *this close* to going into all out "GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!" mode. :scared: I was fine once the ride began and after a few moments of collecting myself, but I was glad it was over!

Yes, it was definitely my worst ride experience. I am a super rational and logical person, but I was seriously starting to freak out. I felt like I was going to suffocate with no air (a fan blows during the ride to simulate wind) and was starting to break out into a sweat trying to breathe through the nausea. They were very quick (it was probably only 5 minutes or so), but it felt like forever.

That experience made me realize why they have all the warnings. I know I have motion sickness and claustrophobia, but I always ignore the warnings figuring I can manage it. Even though I know I can handle the duration of the ride itself, I have to consider how I would react if I was stuck for a while. That never entered my mind before.

That's a really good point, I never thought of it that way. It's probably wise to avoid stuff that you're not ok with getting stuck on for some reasonable amount of time should it malfunction and lock up. It's not just about the ride itself.

I did go into this mode. It wasn't pretty. I screamed and banged until they let me out. :scared1:
