If you could only order one thing at each MDR on the Disney Dream what would it be?

I don’t actually know what truffles taste like, despite having truffle fries and the Pursettes in question. I think they just lend a rich, earthiness to food. (And I do not like mushrooms - taste or texture.)

I agree! I will not eat mushrooms but those Pursettes are my favorite!

Royal - I'll give up my choice here for the Beef Tenderloin from AP. There's no way I can only have 1 thing there. But if that's cheating I guess the French Onion Soup.
I loveeeee that French Onion soup. To me Royal has the best food choices.

How do you know if there is an Indian food or any other food to substitute on pirate night? Just wondering.

I would like ANYTHING except pirate menu. I know Palo is an option but I do love me some Indian/Philipino/anything to try once!!!
So they always have Indian food available every night on the ship. You have to order it in advance. So we
Normally order our Indian vegetarian food the night before pirates night
Menu and it has never been an issue on 10 sailings.

I hate mushrooms too. I don’t think that the truffle flavor is very strong at all. As I’ve said another threads, I always order two on the night this is on the menu.

I’ll have to come back later with my top three items though. I need to think about it.
The beauty of rotational dining on DCL with AP is that black truffle pasta pursettes are actually on the menu three nights! Once for each dining group to rotate through that menu at AP. We usually order it twice out of three nights for sure and our waiters bring it to us even on AP plates to whatever
Other MDR we are dining in thst night.

Royal: Deep Fried Brie
Garden: Sea Scallops
AP: Purseittes
1923: Churros
Arendelle: Apple Cake
Marvel: Mystic Pasta
Tiana's: Beignets
1923: churros were good but so was the red quinoa tacos!

Marvel - we really liked the soba noodles and tofu- the broth was amazing in flavor

ArriƩndale - we might make it a Palo night from now on or just order Indian vegetarian since most the meal options are not thst great for vegetarians.

Is there are list to choose from or just the one Indian vegetarian dish? Is the spice level negotiable? Does it come with rice??
Can't wait to try anyway?:hyper2:

No menu to choose from usually whatever the chef makes. As an Indian I can tell you the food is hit or miss for me on the ship. It’s either great or just okay. Usually comes with rice and a tortilla shell for bread (pre covid it used to come with traditional Indian bread).

You can always order off the regular menu and then order one plate of Indian food to share at the table. Sometimes we do that also.

Wow, lunch prime rib sounds fantastic šŸ˜…

Tell me about it. My wife and I we cruised on the Dream over Halloween 2022. Our first Disney cruise. We went up to the buffet for lunch and saw all-you-care-to-enjoy crab legs and jumbo shrimp. Our jaws dropped. We're big seafood eaters. Thought "they're just trying to impress us on the first day" then went to Animator's (because why not, we're on a cruise). Prime rib for lunch? Yes please. Amazing. Melt in your mouth. Perfect.

I can't recall if we ate MDR lunch again - I'm sure we did but can't remember exactly - but we went to the buffet several more times and yep - those crab legs and shrimp were there every day. Not just a first day thing.

We left that cruise very impressed with Disney Cruise Line's food. Never felt the need to partake in the specialty dining. Enchanted Garden was our favorite dining room but we loved all of them. Of course the service across the ship was impeccable.

How do you know which nights of your cruise you can order food from other restaurant menus?

Adding to the pursettes love fest. Honestly, if I didn't feel embarrassed I'd want just a big bowl of those things and skip the main.
On my last cruise (I did a b2b), on the second time through AP my server brought me those for my app and then two bowls for my main. It was perfect.

I don't eat veal or lamb, just FYI, so for me those are automatically disqualified, but I eat everything else Disney has to offer on their menus -

Animators: Ginger-Teriyaki Beef Tenderloin, rare (comes out medium rare to medium, if I'm lucky, or they ignore me and it's medium well :p). I love the wasabi potatoes and bok choy served with it too.

Royal Court: Grand Marnier souffle. I like a lot of things on this menu but this is my favorite dessert fleet wide. It used to be tied with baked Alaska as I'm a sucker for meringue but I'm not sure they do that anymore anywhere at any time.

Enchanted Garden: Sea Scallops. The bass is also good, but I rarely splurge for scallops at home and its included here so.... :)

1923: I've only been once, so my experience is limited. I liked the lobster salad here the best of what we had.

Arrendelle: Same as above; Chilean Sea Bass - it came with so many good vegetables to boot!

Marvel: Same as above, Steamed Bao Buns! (I also liked the Udon noodles but I asked for a turbot filet with it, so I kind of cheated there and it doesn't count as one dish.)

Pirate night: Not my favorite... not gonna lie. All the meats tend to be dry, but this menu especially so it feels like. Everything also seems so sweet with the added fruits.... but I digress. Ive eaten a ton of Jack's Treasure of the Seas and I'm over those dried out shrimps. Now I'd say the Grouper Filet.

That's the secret? I should have thought of that. Asked for medium rare every time I ordered meat - got overcooked and dry mostly.

Scallops were excellent on my last cruise. First time I ordered them and they were on of the best dishes of the cruise.
