If you could design a resort?

If you were in charge of designing a resort for disney, what would your theme be? I've had a couple of ideas in my head:

The Disney Nations resort:
this would probably have to have some affliation with EPCOT. The resort would probably fall into the deluxe category. The different section would represent different countries of the world and major icons from around the world would be represented.

The Disney Classics resort:
this would kinda expand on the ASMo theme in that it would incorporate all the classic disney characters. this would probably be a value resort--It would have the larger that life icons as well. all the sections would be themed around the classic disney characters: i.e.....the pooh & friends(hundred acre woods)section, the little mermaid section, and so on.....

just a couple of thoughts; let's hear from all you amatuer imageneers out there: what would you design? what would your main pool themes be? thanks in advance.

Your ideas are great. I would love to see a Disney nations resort.

I think I would design a pyramid, atlantis, secret passageway, ... type of resort. Something along the lines of Tombraider-the game-not the movie. Not a particularly big fan of it but I think an ancient egypt or lost city type of resort would be cool.

Or some type of under sea thing. Sunken ship, aquarium type of thing.

Oh, the Atlantis/ Lost City/ Tombraider thing sounds great!! A dinner show with Indiana Jones, perhaps?

Of course I'd also vote for the castle resort

MAybe not just a resort but another park -
A theme for VILLANS -
My family doesn't agree - They think it would be too much for young children - and Disney is family oriented .
I think there's a lot of opportunity there.

I would love ANY new resort to have interior corridors and balconies or patios. As for a new resort I would love to see an Asian inspired resort.

Dh and I were talking about this just the other day.....

I can't believe they missed the boat when they put Pop Century together...... when you look at the popularity of ASMo out of the three All Stars, you can see that alot of folks would be drawn to another resort that had character icons (rather than giant yo-yo's, etc.) IMHO

I would love to see a resort that uses classic movie characters --- Peter Pan, Jungle Book, of course ALL the princesses, imagine how popular a Beauty & Beast themed building would be!!!! (Not to mention Cinderella!)

Oh well, for now, I'll just stay at ASMo -- love the pool with Sorcerer Mickey!

Oh I'm with you on that one. Little Mermaid would be booked up in a heartbeat- so I'll take an Eeyore building please.

See this is what I don't get.... how could those in "charge" of this type of stuff NOT realize how FAST those buildings/rooms would be booked? I'm telling you... any princess building would be booked as fast as Cinderella's breakfast at the castle... I bet you good money. Bet you won't take that bet though right? LOL
And the rest you mentioned would be extremely popular also. I think after Pop Century they should get RIGHT on it making a resort like you have already mentioned on this thread!!! Pronto. Like now... before my kids are grown. LOL

Don't I wish Disney asked people questions like these before taking chances with Imagineer's fatalistic ideas!

I'd still love to see a resort along the AS Mo line too. I want a section just for princesses, and one just with the villains and dinosaurs. Oh who cares about who'll fight over sections, they fight over staying in the Toy Story section now and they survive! Disney can afford to cater to girls and boys equally...

Then I want a whole section with The Lion King and Jungle book themes, and one with Pooh and friends.

I agree! I love extensive theming like that...it makes it even easier to pretend I'm a million miles away from home (even though I'm only an hour away).

I would like to see a resort based on the Disney princesses. Maybe a castle theme with each floor representing a different princess/movie. I guess this would be a deluxe resort. For a moderate or value resort, I would like to see more characters from classic movies. I like the idea of a Winnie the Pooh building, Peter Pan building, etc...

I think all of the ideas suggested are better than the Pop Century!

Another vote for the modern Asian/Venetian resort. Make the rooms the size of the GF or Poly, offer some with king beds and a sleeper sofa, offer some with whirlpool tubs, or Japanese style soaking tubs.

Okay --- so Pop Century already exists.... but I wonder how much it would cost to scrap the existing "decorative" junk and do a make-over with our ideas!!!!

....something with "Far East" flair. Imagine the female CM's dressed in kimonos, pagodas for rooms, and the grounds complete with Japanese gardens ~ how lovely! (Maybe Mulan and friends could "pop in" from time to time!!

I would also like to see something that is maybe "Alps-inspired" (it could be located near Blizzard Beach) with Swiss chalets and such.....!!

I know there is already a rumor that Disney had talked about this... But I would have to say that I would like to see a "HOLLYWOOD TOWER HOTEL" all set in the 20's, I would pay a pretty penny for a hotel like that...

I have also thought about a "Atlantis" themed hotel. In fact, before I chose to go to med school way back when I was undergrad I thought I wanted to be an architect. I designed a resort, which started as just a restaurant, in the atlantis theme... then when Disney released the movie I went back and used a few ideas that I got from the movie and modified the layout... I hope maybe one day to open it... LOL who knows!
