Even if we booked the land and sea package seperatly - can we still purchase the land and sea transfers for 69 a person to and from the resort/airport and port?? Does this only apply to disney resorts or does it include the swan and dolphin also? Any help is appreciated :cheer2:

You can book the Disney shuttle regardless. If you will be staying at a resort that does not host a stop for the shuttle you just need to get over to the closest one (or AK) that does. That's why the shuttles leave for the port from WDW in the afternoon...It gives everyone who is not staying at a resort that is a host shuttle stop a chance to get to one. I believe the shuttle does stop at the Swan...I could be mis-remembering, though...I always have my travel agent make the shuttle arrangements so that they match my itinerary exactly.

If you are asking about transfers from airport -> resort -> port for $69, then the answer is no. You can only purchase the land and sea transfers if you book the package. You can purchase the transfers separately though. When we went in December, we had to purchase the airport -> resort part through Mears. We then purchased the resort-> port / port-> airport for $50 per person through DCL.

Yes Canadian we want to go to the resort first then to the port and back to the airport but we did not do the land/sea package through disney. We did it seperately to save money. So we will have to purchase transfers from the airport to the hotel? and then transfers from airport to port?? Thanks for your help :cheer2:

yes, you can book them separate. I just did that myself. But, you need to tell DCL where you want to catch the DCL shuttle.

I am staying at the pop century, so the DCL agent suggested I go to the Swan or Dolphin to catch the shuttle. She said luggage transfer is a lot easier at this pickup point.

Yep, you would need to purchase tranfer from the airport to your hotel if you are staying onsite at WDW (through Mears for $17 per person one way). This may change with the new Magic Express that is being offered in May. This new service gives you free airport to WDW resort transfer.

You would still need to purchase the transfer from your WDW hotel to port canaveral and from port canaveral back to the airport on your return. This return transfer will cost you $50 each per person through DCL.

Have you thought about renting a town car? This is what we are thinking of using next time we went. We have use DCL transfer twice now and it was very convenience. But I find that we did not get to chose when we want to go the ship. The time that they pick you up at your resort is quite late usually around 12. We stayed at the CBR and our pick up time was 12:30pm. We then had to go to OKW resort to pick up some more people so that DCL could fill the bus. We did not get to port until 1:45pm. By that time, most people have boarded the ship already. We wanted to have lunch at Parrot Cay but were unable to, because the restaurant was closing at 2pm. Topsider was still open for lunch though. We also missed the opportunity to make our ressies for Palo since all booking times were full.

I don't want to talk you out of booking transfer through DCL. If it is the first time that you are going, then by all means book it. It's very easy, they take care of everything for you. You get to watch a nice video onboard the bus and it's a good introduction to the cruise. We booked the transfers twice through DCL and saw the video twice now, so it's nice time for a change. :)

I just wanted to add that if you book DCL transfer from the airport to port rather than resort to port then you are able to get on the ship earlier. Usually, the DCL bus leaves the airport at 9 or 10am. So you can get to the cruise terminal before boarding and be on the ship by 12:30 or 1pm.

rhonda ,
