How are you notified of it?

In Person?
In a memo?
On your schedule?

**********************
I work for a small company/store.
We have a book with the weekly schedule that we glance at occasionally during peak work occasions-otherwise we all know our days off & which Saturday we work each month.

My boss hung a piece of paper on a wall with varias tasks that needed to be done this week.Never said anything outloud, at all.
He then listed what days the whole staff needed to work-which he "highlighted" with a reddish-orange marker. It looked as if it had been marked off & I didn't notice it until today.

I'm soooooo Bummed.:sad1:

We are union so we are never required to work overtime, it is alway voluntary and you get paid nicely for it. I have never worked anyplace where you were forced to work overtime.

My position requires OT most every week. If I get out after only 8 hours, it feels like I'm sneaking our early. I work closely w/ my boss, and it is just pretty much a group effort. She usually is there later than me. I average 50-55 hours week.

On the other hand, it is usually easy for me to be flexible w/ the kids. Today for instance, it was no problem for me to come in at 10 am, since DH is out of town, and I have to take the girls to school.

Also, they are very good at my current job about giving comp time. feb/mar we worked pretty much 10 hour days, and on weekends. At the end of March, I was given 3 days off w/ pay, and was told yesterday that I am to a Fri off sometime in the next month.

Last night it dawned on me that everyone else had a day off during the week but me. So I am the only one working 6 days straight.

No wonder there are unions!

Now I am MAD!
