Last week, I booked a room for Oct. 9th at the All Star Sports at the $74 annual passholder's rate. Today, I checked to see if anything opened at Pop, and the values are now coming up at $54 for that night on the passholders website!

So double check those rates!

Did you use an AP rate or another code? I noticed it also on the AP site, but when I punched in dates at the end of Oct. it was coming up at $76.
Go figure:confused3

I just found the rate on the passholders website. I have been checking every couple of days, hoping to switch from all star sports to Pop since booking my AP last week, and today the $54 rate came up on the passholders website for Pop (and Sports). Mods were down about $20 as well for that night.

Yes, the October-December Passholder Rate for Oct 9 is $54 + tax = $61.02.

I was looking for an AP rate at ASsports for one night only Sat Oct 11, before moving to our main resort. I was not able to get anything below $99 (not including tax). I think there is a minimum stay requirement for weekends, but they don't say exactly what the requirement is.

I finally decided, for $14 more, I could stay the one night at CBR instead, so went with that. :) If I could get a rate in the $70 or less range for my one night, I'd switch back to ASsports, if possible.

I just called and was able to get mine reduced by $20. a night-originally booked OKW at 184.+tax, went down to $164.+tax
Every little bit counts. :goodvibes

Just to make sure I'm understanding this discount..........this is for Annual Passholders only??? I'm going in Oct as well!

Thanks,
Jenny

Yes, this is the AP rate. I was so excited to save another $20 that I didn't mention that in my original post. I'll change that.

I don't know whats going on with October rates but the AP rate has always been the same for whatever season you were going but regular season in october starts on the 2nd right? yet when you check dates on the passholder site for CBR on oct. 10/11 its $99 on 17/18 its $129 and on 24/25 its $149:confused3 What the heck is that all about? It stinks because we are going in the same regular season as everyone else but are paying a higher AP rate and it just doesn't make much sense to me.

All those dates you are looking at are Friday and Saturday nights, and I belive that they have higher rates on Fridays and Saturdays much of the year. If you were looking at Sunday through Thursday nights, you'd see the cheaper rates.

Unfortunately, supply and demand allows them to charge higher prices on the weekends.

thats exactly my point they are all fri/sat dates that fall in the same season so why are they 3 different prices:confused3

On the calander that WDW has on the Passholders site, yesterday for Oct 2 and 3, 2008 the AP rate was 74 per night. Just checked because of this thread and the rates for the same dates is now $54! I tried to book online to no avail. I will call in the am so I might save an additional 40. Hopefully it will still be there.

I had my WORST experience in all my calls to WDW reservatins today trying to get them to change my reservation to reflect the changes on their own website regarding the rates for AP. Originally when I booked my room, the first 4 nights were at the 54 rate and the last 2 at 74 (Sept 28 departing Oct 4). Upon reading this thread, I checked again. The rates for all of my stay according to the WDW site are 54. Last night after the phone lines closed I tried to book this online and couldn't even though the site would get you through up until booking. The site reflected the 54 for all nights.

I decided just to call this morning, I called 3 times and supposedly one was a supervisor. All told me I could not have the 54 for all nights. I proceeded to book online and could for the 54 for all nights!! I had to pay an additional deposit so I had to cancel the original reservation. I then called to cancel the original reservation and the CM couldn't understand why I had the 2. It was about a total of 1 1/2 hours trying to get them to first just change my reservation then cancel the first. I really have NEVER experienced this type of mess with WDW. It took the CM about 15 minutes to cancel my first reservation and refund the deposit. I hope it is refunded as fast as they take the deposit!! She wouldn't apply it to my new reservation. I would have liked that so I could see my money immediately. I don't know what is up with this except that they didn't want to credit/adjust over the phone to reflect there new calender. I hope others don't experience the same problem. Just to let you know, you might have to make the reservation online and not over the phone if it is a change. The phone CM wouldn't even book a new reservaion, which by the way one of them did finally bring up on their computer but refused to do it. I really would like to write WDW but I don't even know who to write to. If it wasn't 40 plus tax, a dinner, I might have just given up!!

My guess is that they are probably different prices because of the number of rooms they have booked. They probably have higher occupancy in the resort for the dates with the higher prices than they do for the date with the lower prices. If they have more people booked at rack rate, they don't need to offer as many rooms at the discounted price. They don't need to entice people in at a lower rate.

Or perhaps others took up all of the rates for a particular weekend before you were able to get it. Or maybe they have groups that have taken some of the AP rates away.

You just don't know.

In the past, they haven't even offered many AP rates in October, so I'm grateful to have even gotten one.

When you look at the calender on WDW passholder site the color box corresponds with the rate and most times the weekend had no effect. For the last days of Sept and the first 2 weeks of Oct all NOW show for 54. Originally Oct 2 and 3 from my experince were the orange box or 74. I did go through much trouble and the CM at WDW reservations would not change my 74 rate to the 54 even though they could see it!! I actually had to book online to get the 54/night for my entire reservation. I ended up having to cancel the orig one and when I called have the CM ask why I didn't just call ! It was like the Twlight Zone - my worst WDW reservation story.. They when I just wanted them to apply my first depost to my new reservation NO also. I have to be credited it back. They have transferred deposits, including on these orig reservations (made before AP discounts) no problem. Now they have charged the new deposit to my CC but not the refund. I guess they make you wait for that!! I don't even know if it was worth the few hours this morning but it was the principal!! If WDW is offering it they should give the offer. I have contacted WDW by email just to verify my current reservations and tell them of all the wasted time by the CMs and my time. I hope if anyone else is trying to obtain these new rates, they have no problem.

I just chesked my date 10/13-38 they're still the same $84/nite at ASMu...just for giggles I checked the other values, and they're the same too....
I'll keep an eye open though fo changes..thanks for the heads up all!!

I checked my date Oct 11 and rates at CBR, POR, and CSR had gone down from $128 to $111 including tax.

I called to modify my reservation to reflect the lower price. The CM said "it will automatically go down" red flag! No it won't.

I hung up and called again. This CM was nice and took care of the whole thing. At first she could not find the rate, but I told her it is indeed online and she eventually found it.

She was going to give me the $17 credit to my resort account. I asked for it to be credited to my cc. She said most people just put it on their resort account. Is this true? Well, I'm only staying there one night, so didn't want to do that... just didn't want lose ends, I guess.

I was relieved to have a nice CM. I must say that 50% of the time, I am getting people who are a little irritated or they just put you on hold and never come back. What is happening to Disney?

So check your mod resort rates to see if they have gone down!

You're lucky you ended up with a CM that did find it and changed it. I had 3 different ones, including a supervisor supposedly, and they told me to go book it online and then cancel!! The last of the 3 actually said she found it but couldn't change it. I told her to just book it and I would cance the other reservation and she wouldn't! When I called to cancel my original reservation upon booking the lower rate on line the CM asked why I had 2 and took forever to cancel it and wouldn't add my return of deposit to the new reservation to increase my deposit!! I still haven't received the credit to my CC, but was charged the additional deposit. I have contacted WDW via email and haven't heard back as of now. The CMs were acting like I was doing something wrong by asking to have my rate lowered!! WDW shouldn't have lowered the AP rates for additional days if they didn't expect those already with reservations to want the same rate.
