Judy:
Just curious......if you finished the Donald this year with over 15 minutes to spare. how come you didn't sign up for the Mickey in '08? ( Not being nosey, just trying to be well informed about my own decision)
Jeanne
Oh Jeanne, Jeanne, Jeanne, my dear..... You're so sweet.
There are some things you can't tell just by my time.
For intance, I am 45 and just started doing this whole racing thing about 18 months ago, after ACL replacement surgery. I have NEVER done anything even remotely athletic before that. As is evident by the extra 45 pounds I carry around.
You have to understand, I am
TOTALLY AMAZED that I even did the Half! No one is more suprised than me that I committed to this, trained for it, and did it - yes, with time to spare! I crossed the finish line with tears running down my face! I was crying so hard, a lady EMT asked me if I was OK and I said "I have never been so OK in all my life" (or something like that. Robert has my race report on his website if you want to read it.) Even now looking at all the pictures they took of me on the course I keep saying to DH "Don't I look so happy?" I have said on many occasions, THAT was the happiest time of my life. But I have to then add "Except for when I married you, honey". (Although secretly...its a toss up.

)
Well, anyway, to answer your question, I just do not aspire to the Full. I want to improve my time on the Half. I'm considering - just mulliing over the possibility - that maybe I might possibly think about doing the Full for my 50th birthday. But for now, I'm quite content - who am I kidding - I'm ecstatic to be able to do the Half!
Thank you for thinking I could do the Full. I'm very flattered.
