If we can DREAM it, we can do it! ..... another 30 day vacation Update 02/07

What a nice day... of food! Your server did an excellent job picking out some tasty dishes!

breakfast the next day looked relaxing.

I bet you were anxious to get to your cabana though... I would have been very anxious if docking was taking longer than usual..

They were an excellent server team, but that was food overload! ;)

Those breakfasts on the veranda are just so nice, you sit there sipping tea, nibbling croissants and enjoy the view of CC. Heaven!

We knew that some things would not go to plan with Hurricane Isaac at our doorstep. We were all pretty impressed with Captain Gus not giving up! :goodvibes

Karin, how many times have you encountered a hurricane on a Disney cruise? Have you had any rock and rolling of the ship? I remember one mention, but was that summer or February?

I just LOVE your photos! Next best thing to being on the cruise. :teeth:

So far, we have sailed through three hurricanes since 2009.
You asked about any rock and rolling during the hurricane. Well, in 2011 we sailed through Hurricane Irene and the first day of our second cruise we literally had our section of the dining room to ourselves and there were sea sickness bags all over. LOTS of motion of the ship! :rotfl2:
February can have choppy seas too. ;)

Wow 3 hours is a long time! Your pictures are lovely though. I would love to be at Castaway Cay right now!

It didn't seem all that long to us, only when the captain announced that it had taken him three hours did we look at our watches. We were happy to get there in the end with a hurricane lurking out there in the ocean. ;)

Karin that was some DOCKING!!! But better 3 hours than not at all !!!

Rosie, three hours is not a regular way it goes. But with a hurricane out in the ocean it was pretty difficult for captain Gus. :thumbsup2

Yay for Captain Gus! He is wonderful and, you are there!!! If docking has to take 3 hours how lovely to sit on the verandah whole waiting and enjoying breakfast.

We were so happy with him! Not only was he persistant enough to try again and again, but he also LOVES his Mickey whistles ..... and so do I. ;) :rotfl2:

Karin do you know we have yet to order room service! Maybe we will on the Fantasy.

This isn't the right TR but I found the TR by jenseib with the Astaria Gardens !!! I definately think it is a strong contender for our tour in May!!!

Apart from breakfast (where we just fill out the form and hang outside the stateroom door!) we haven't had anything from room service yet.
We were determined to try it on our last cruise, but when Ana went to great lenght to get us into her rotation, we just could not say we would eat somewhere else.
And with early dining there was just no time to fit in a snack anywhere. ;)

I am glad you found it in the end! :goodvibes

The steak looked really good. As did the upside down pineapple tini.
That is so nice the treats you gave to both cast members. I would have been mad at the other one who ate half. LOL
Seems like you had an easy process getting onto the ship.
Nice gifts you got there.
That is a really long time to dock it seems. I would have been going crazy. LOl
All caught up and look forward to more.

Both, the steak and the filet were so good!

Our friendship with Maritza goes quite a way back. And I was pretty mad that the manager ate half of her Mickey cake pop! :lmao:

So far, we have always had good luck getting on the ship. And the excitement of getting there is always high!

We were running into hurricane Isaac, that's what caused the currents that gave Captain Gus such trouble. And it was better to get there three hours late than not at all. :rotfl2:

Karin,
I AM FINALLY ALL CAUGHT UP!!!!
I have to say this report really makes me so happy. I can not believe that it is almost 8 months ago that we got to finally meet you and Tom in person!!!! Most of our happiest memories upon this cruise have to do with both of you!!
Angelina LOVES her Mickey and sleeps with him all of the time.
She really loves the one you gave her in Feb and he is the perfect size to fit in her Minnie Mouse purse. She take Mickey with her EVERY Where she goes!!! We are so blessed to call you both our FRIENDS!!!!!
Now that i am all caught up I can not wait for your next installment!!!:rotfl2:

Karin, how much does the ship toss during a hurricane???

Christine, there is NO general answer.
They tend to go "around" them and sometimes all you get is a lot of rain and the ship rocking a little bit.
If the hurricane is big enough, so they cannot completely get out of its way the ship rocks quite a bit.
During Isaac one night Tom and I were joking that the Captain was trying to rock us out of our beds. :rotfl2: Walking in the dining room had to be done carefully as you walked from side to side. Thankfully we had the dining room mostly to ourselves as most of our fellow cruisers were too seasick to eat. :lmao:

Yeah for being caught up, Michelle!

Yes, it has been nearly 8 months since our cruise together, unbelievable isn't it. But we have such fond memories of that cruise and the fireworks one and we cannot wait to see you guys again. :woohoo: How awesome was it to become friends with all of you.
Oh, thanks for letting us know about Angelina and Mickey. I am SO glad she loves him so much.
I need to update here soon, but both my February TR and this one are on a CC day and I started to confuse myself! :rotfl2:

124 days until we meet again! :dance3:

Oh my! I would most definitely be ill under those conditions....then again, when my MS is acting up, I feel that way and walk kind of sideways anyway! :rotfl2:

I haven't given up on a cruise together - looking into possible meds and what, if anything, I could do to prepare. Not for 2014, but fingers crossed for the future. ::yes::

It's really hard to predict as cruisers during Sandy had a real horrible time. I have read some reports and hope NEVER to experience that.
On the other hand, we were not bothered at all with the hurricanes we sailed through, while other people were pretty seasick.
If you are researching this you better look for a time when there are as little weather impacts as possible. :goodvibes

If I am ever able to go on a cruise, only want to go when you and Tom are onboard.::yes:: BUT since your cruises often include rocky weather...this wish might not come true! We'll just have to get together at WDW for now. :goodvibes:rotfl:
