If we can DREAM it, we can do it! ..... another 30 day vacation Update 02/07

The sausages did look a liitle pale !!! But I loved the sight of tomatoes with breakfast, americans don't usually have tomatoes for breakfast and I just love them !! Loved the pix of DLP shops !! I just did my schedule for next month and am taking a couple of days off just to relax and shop and wrap !!I am also so taking a couple of days off from second job !!I am excited , days off and not a vacation and time to do what ever mmmmm!!!

Yay for 2 beds! no fun having to deal with that kind of snafu late at night, glad it was resolved quickly. Interesting decor...it's like Bay Lake Tower meets Paradise Pier with a NY twist.

Nice that breakfast was included, even with tiny tables. It does look cold and wet though, perfect for shopping and more cocoa!

Looking forward to the advent calendars.

I have to say we love tomatoes with our breakfast.

Breakfast with the room would be nice. Is this common in Europe?

I just read a tr on passporters about dlp too and the new world of Disney looks pretty neat. Great start to the day.

We were really keen on checking the new World of Disney out. I imagined it to be much bigger, but it looked really cool! :thumbsup2

Breakfast looks yummy...even at really small tables. ;)

Love all the Christmas decorations and the merchandise in the store is displayed so nicely.

They really did a great job with displaying the merchandise - especially the 20th anniversary one! :goodvibes

So breakfast comes with the room? I wish that WDW resorts came with breakfast. That is one thing I have always found strange since so many hotels offer breakfast with the room.

I love your pictures. Although it looks cold it looks amazing! I really hope to someday go to DLRP.

Yes! Most European hotel rooms come with a continental breakfast. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, rolls, butter, jam, ham and cheese if you are lucky. But it is better than nothing. The breakfast at the New York was really nice though. :goodvibes
I know it looks a bit cold and miserable, but it actually wasn't. It's the usual fall weather here, so we knew how to deal with it. ;)

The sausages were VERY pale. I love the ones we usually get in London, nicely browned. ;)
I just LOVE tomatoes with breakfast. So yummy. Oh, don't remind me of English grilled tomatoes :cloud9:
:woohoo: for having a few days off!

I LOVE your comment on the decor being BLT meets Paradise Pier with a NY twist. :lmao: :thumbsup2
It WAS a perfect day for shopping and exploring .... not really a park day. It was CROWDED!!!!!!!!!!
Tom and I hope that you'll have fun with the calendars. :thumbsup2

Here in Europe most hotel rooms come with continental breakfast. Mostly rolls, butter and jam, but still breakfast. ;)

Agreed :thumbsup2

Enjoying all the DLP details Karin!!! :lovestruc

I am glad you enjoy the pics ...... there are LOADS more to come! :thumbsup2

Disneyland Paris November 2012

Day 2, November 17

Plans? What plans? - Part 3

So we joined the masses and walked over to the Disneyland Hotel and the side entrance to the park.
The park had just opened up and it was packed already. We were really shocked, as so far we had always been to the parks when it was really busy and after some research this weekend didn’t look all too busy. But it WAS busy. Really busy.

So after looking around the main square

IMG_7182.jpg

we thought about using the horse drawn trolley to go up Main Street,

but when we saw the line for it, we forgot about it quickly. We knew with a park that busy we would not ride much, as standing in line in Disneyland Paris is not like standing in line in the US. People are smoking in line, pushing and jumping lines, so it’s either a short line, or Fastpass or not riding at all. Our decision was to walk around the park and check out the stores, but before that we had to start at one of the many posters on Town Square.
It was one of a steamship and I had to have my picture taken while wearing the Disney Fantasy Maiden Voyage sweatshirt I had been given by our friend Narciso, our stateroom host on the Disney Dream.

Photos done we headed to the Emporium and over to Lily’s boutique.

Once we had everything checked out we walked back out of the shop and onto Main Street again. The next thing that grabbed my attention were the decorations of the hub. There were pairs of Disney characters, nicely placed with the castle in the background.

We walked all round the hub to take pictures of them before we headed over to the castle.

LOVE the photos, Karin - especially your sweatshirt - very cool! :goodvibes Vera Bradley is nice too! ;) The snow people placed with the Castle in back are just too cute!

Weather looks so raw and cold. Some friends lived in Paris for about 15 mos and they said it was usually cloudy and often cold and raw. Although you don't look cold at all (everyone else appears to be bundled up) - must be that wonderful Austrian blood! ::yes::

I always wondered what, if any, smoking restrictions might be at DLPR. I well remember the days when WDW allowed smoking everywhere...it was not fun in those close lines, especially when adult hands were level with little faces. So happy those days are over!

Counting down to December 2nd!! :thumbsup2

I love all the Christmas decorations, especially the snowman characters...sooo cute. Very nice sweatshirt. :)

Love the cute Disney "snowman" couples. You got some great shots of them with the castle in the background. I would have done the same thing you did and skip the rides - I don't mind cigarette smoke as long as I'm not right next to the smoker but it sounds like I wouldn't have been able to avoid it and pushing and shoving - ugh no! I often enjoy just walking around the parks and soaking up the atmosphere.

Boo to crowds and smoking in line, jumping line, etc.

But do LOVE those decorations in front of the castle.

What wonderful holiday pictures! I love Disney Christmas decorations! I think they are the best!!!

Those are great decorations Karin :santa: The snowmen are cute!!

Sorry about the smoking..and shoving...:headache:

I am glad you enjoyed the photos so far .... lots more to come. The snowmen in front of the castle looked really fun and the castle was a cute background.
As for the weather - that's the usual weather for that time of year for the region. And since you mentioned not being bundled up ... you can tell where people come from. It was pretty mild for us, but seemed to be PRETTY cold for others. :rotfl2:
Well, they have the same smoking restrictions as they have at WDW, but no one seems to care here. People just smoke in line and whereever and CM can not be bothered. Plus the only people who really can line up are the Brits - everyone else just uses "their elbows". :rotfl2:

The calendar opens tomorrow, on Dec 1, Christine.

I love all the Christmas decorations, especially the snowman characters...sooo cute. Very nice sweatshirt. :)

It was so nice to see all the decorations up, felt so much like Christmas. :thumbsup2
Can you believe that we got that sweatshirt from our stateroom host on the DREAM? Last summer we went to look for him, as we have grown very close to him and he said he had presents for us. Turns out he had gotten both of us an inaugural sweater and some sweets from Thailand. :goodvibes

The character snowmen were new to us. They looked so cute!
We go to DLRP enough to not be bothered by not riding anything. And the AP had already paid for itself with the room discount and you can get a 20% merchandise discount.
I hate cigarette smoke and they smoke about everywhere in the parks. So annoying!!!

Boo to crowds and smoking in line, jumping line, etc.

But do LOVE those decorations in front of the castle.

Smoking and line jumping are a VERY European thing. ;) They did great work with the decorations! ;) :thumbsup2

Disney is wonderful when it comes to Christmas decorations. We were so happy to see that it was the same with DLRP! :thumbsup2

Those are great decorations Karin :santa: The snowmen are cute!!

I loved seeing the park all decked out for Christmas. Just right to get you into that Christmas mood. :santa:

Disneyland Paris November 2012

Day 2, November 17

Plans? What plans? - Part 4

We walked all round the hub to take pictures of them before we headed over to the castle. And when we turned around we noticed the garlands over Main Street.

IMG_7193.jpg

IMG_7201.jpg

It reminded me a lot of Walt Disney World and added a lot to the atmosphere. Then it was time to head over to the castle.

DSC_0235.jpg

We walked through the Christmas store that is inside the castle and then over to the little art shop on the other side.
And after browsing through we walked downstairs to the lair to visit the dragon. There were several visitors there and the dragon seemed to be annoyed with some of them as he blew smoke and was wiggling its claws.

We watched for a while before we walked out of the lair and over to Fantasyland.

DSC_0257.jpg

It was packed. Why not try to get on It’s a small world. 25 minute wait, no thank you. Peter Pan? More than an hour’s wait. Thanks, but NO thanks. Even the line to meet Mickey was LONG!!

DSC_0258.jpg

And after checking out the stores we walked over to Pirates of the Caribbean.

IMG_7219.jpg

IMG_7220.jpg

Only a 10 minute wait and we got in line.

IMG_7221.jpg

It was really a 10 minute wait, but they only used two of four lines.

DSC_0259.jpg

We got on and watched them fight and when we got off they had opened up all four lines and the line had gone and it was no a walk on.

Plans? What plans? - Part 5

We got on and watched them fight and when we got off they had opened up all four lines and the line had gone and it was no a walk on.
Once we had gotten off we walked towards the Adventure Isle

IMG_7222.jpg

DSC_0264.jpg

and over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Even the fastpass line was long and we didn’t fancy the 75 minute wait in the standby line. Over to the Haunted Mansion and another 30 minute wait, which we did not want to join. So we walked around a bit and then decided to just leave and do some shopping. So we slowly made our way towards Main Street again

IMG_7223.jpg

and decided to check out the stores on the other side of it.

IMG_7224.jpg

IMG_7226.jpg

IMG_7225.jpg

IMG_7227.jpg

It took a while until we had made our way down

IMG_7228.jpg

IMG_7229.jpg

and when we left the stores we were caught behind the rope they had put up for “some kind of” a parade, which we were not sure about. I was guessing it would just be the Character caravan, but instead they opened up the gates and they had a cute little Christmas Parade.
