A few years ago my fam and I went to WDW - we stayed off site and tried to get into Blizzard Beach, but we were told that they have reached max as far as people - does that happen only if you are staying off site? Are you always guaranteed into water parks if staying on site? Thanks :confused3

No, because the safety issues that surround water, max capacity is max capacity for all. The water parks do not have the same onsite policies as the theme parks. It would become a safety risk for the lifeguards and the guests.

I am not sure about that. We stayed on-site Easter Week 2003. On the way into Blizzard Beach, there was a sign out front saying they are at capacity and closed. I thought great, they'll just take us back to the hotel, but they dropped us off and we went right in. Also, we weren't the only ones on the bus, the bus was 3/4 full.

I wonder if they close it to off site guests at a certain capacity, say 90% or so, then close it off to everybody once it reaches 100%.

If you are staying on-site AND you use WDW transportation you will get in.

I hate to go against the last 2 post. But being a former guard. When you reach capacity thats it. You are not guaranteed admitance to the water park. As the 2nd post said. Its strickly a safety issue. And 2nd its a State of FL issue. You go over Max Capacity and the state will shut you down.

Just as with the parks there are levels of closure due to crowds, one the parking lot can fill and no offsite guests are allowed due to no parking.

Then the park itself can get so crowded that they turn away everyone.

So yes if the park itself is at capacity no one is allowed in.

The question I have is, if the water park reaches maximum number it can hold, why would you still want to go in there? :confused3
