Our tentative dates are May 4th thru May 12th. I think Jenna would head back May 10th but we may stay until the Monday after Mother's Day depending on room rates. Does that coincide with your dates at all? :goodvibes [/QUOTE]

If we do WDW after the cruise, yes we would definitely see each other. Our cruise gets us back in May 2 and we would be hitting the parks the following week.

However, many many disers are advising me to do WDW before the cruise (even though it's closer to Spring Break). I'm still deciding. . . at least I have some time. :rolleyes1

We're looking into a townhouse off-site though. We gotta do WDW on the cheap or else it won't happen at all.

I think you have a decent chance. Can you access Southwest Airlines DING fares from where you are? They have uber cheap specials and offer them just a couple of months out. If not, let me know and I would be happy to look for you from NY to Orlando. You could SO do WDW for a few days and get a little fix. I think the POP looks like a lot of fun and if we had less people, I'd stay there in a minute! :woohoo:

I've been able to get on to the Soutwest website but couldn't see anything about DING fares, they are only doing fares up until May so I'll keep an eye open for when their July fares are available. Thanks for the tip.
Donny seems a bit bemused at my lack of enthusiasm about spending two weeks solid with his folks...I think I'm really going to have to work hard on this one 'cos he's not even sure that we need to break up the fortnight at all:scared1:

Why do they advise doing WDW first? I bet you can find a groovy townhouse for WAY cheper than a property on site. :thumbsup2 Keep me posted with what develops! :goodvibes

:faint: I could never spend 2 weeks with my inlaws! No way, nuh uh, no how! :crazy2: :scared1: Maybe call and see if there is one of those fancy codes attached to your name? I have read about killer room rates!

50 days until Mexico!!! :beach: I keep changing our room reservations. At first I was okay with staying on the chaper side but now I have fallen in love. Check it out: www.catalinabeachresort.com It's the deluxe bungalow. :lovestruc

481 days until WDW!!!

Looks beautiful Jenny, silly question but is it safe to leave your resort there? I know most of the hotels the English go to in Mexico tell you not to leave your hotel

::yes:: DH and I have been to Mexico dozens of times and have never had an issue. In fact about 5 years ago, during my *I want to be bilingual stage* I drove me and Gab to Mexico into Ensenada. We had zero problems then. Mexico can be dangerous, like anywhere, but as long as you use your head, you can avoid most problems. :thumbsup2 Gab and I stayed with a Spanish speaking only family and had a blast. I know enough Spanish to get buy. :)

I'm so happy someone can see where I'm coming from  Donny just doesn't see what my problem is. Hello, yes they are lovely people and I'm very luck to have them (I know this because my first set of in laws were your worst nightmare....as was their son:scared1: )but I know for a fact that I couldn't spend two weeks in their company, it would well and truely tip me over that edge that I am constantly teetering on!!! Maybe I could suggest WDW on medical grounds...who know's if we don't go and I have to do two weeks of family togetherness I could go completely Brittney:eek: (of course an older, fatter, less pretty and poorer version but you get the idea)

Your Mexico retreat looks Heavenly....you lucky, lucky thing. Are you sure you wouldn't want to trade and you could spend two weeks in Long Island with a crowd of alcholic Scots while I'm livin' the Vida Loca...NO?....ARE YOU SURE?

Na, can't blame you doll!!!!

:rotfl2: Completely Brittney!!! :lmao: Poor thing, she's gone mad. I think she's bipolar. Wonder when they'll release her diagnosis? I betcha that's why she's self-medicating with drugs/alcohol? Or maybe she's just a party girl like us? party:

I adore my inlaws too and we lived with them when we first moved to Utah. We moved out after my FIL caught us *doing it*. Tell Donny he gets NO play while you are at their house. That should buy you some Disney time! :lmao:

49 days until Mexico!!! Our passports came today! :yay: :beach:

That bungalow looks great.

Hey Jenny. I have been told that WDW isn't really a vacation. It's more of a marathon. :rotfl: You don't come home feeling like you've been able to relax and unwind. So most people suggest taking the cruise after you do WDW so you get to wind down from your WDW sprint.

Right now I'm too busy planning two more trips to DLR (one in Feb for my dd's 6th birthday, and one in April for a Disboard Ladies Only trip) to even begin planning the 2009 stuff.

I did get the 2008 Unofficial Guide to WDW and mother that thing is HUGE. Totally scares me! :scared1: WDW is still so mentally out of reach for me, I just keep putting it off. I'll spend the summer working on it. :rolleyes1

I'll definitely let you know what our final plans end up being. Hope we'll get to hook up with ya either there or at DLR. You know you won't be able to go another 2 years without getting back to Walt's original park -- the one with the best version of your favorite ride. ;) :lovestruc

Yeh I think you're right. poor Brit has def gone a bit squirrely...as you're well aware I have been know to party hard in my time and yes I have also snogged some rather questionable characters but my locks have always stayed in place (I look incredibly butch with short hair, I once thought I's give it a try, I had visions of being a rubanesque, white Halle Berry...wrong I looked like I should be working on a building site:scared1: )

You have really got Big D's number, that is the perfect route to take (or I could threaten to shave my hair off with the trauma!!!) I've actually got another cunning plan but I don't know if it's going to work (cue Dr Evil laugh Woo hahaha). I think I've mentioned it before but I was made redundant from BA this summer and part of the package is that you can travel as retired staff and as such have a retired staff ID. Now there are companies which offer reduced rates to airline staff and retired staff..the question is will my retired staff ID be acceptable as I have not actually retired? I've pointed this out to Donny under the guise of "for our holiday in 2009, just look how cheap this would make the trip. We could stay where ever we wanted and maybe even get concierge:banana: " of course he didn't hear the silent "and we could use it for Disney this summer as well:yay: "

Hey Jordan, did you shave your hair off too:scared: I once saw my parent have a full on snog and I was traumatised for years (this from the man who would get all flustered and go make coffee for the entire family if there was any sign of a love scene on the TV when we were young!!!)

I am freaking. It doesn't seem real right now....

I am SO envious. I can't wait to feel that again in some 450 days. :rolleyes2

That makes total sense. We had 10 days and felt pretty good when we got home but I can imagine how harried you'd be with only 4 days. It's still totally worth it but you'll nheed to prioritze!

:thumbsup2 Very cool, I bet your DD is excited! Are you doing MA on the ladies only trip?

I was SO overwhelmed too but you have plenty of time to get familiar with it. I had a little less than 6 months and by the time the trip arrived I felt pretty versed. Just remeber that you have to be WAY more flexible than when at Disneyland due to the sheer massivness of WDW and that's you'll change your ADRs 100 times. ;) Please let me know if I can help! :goodvibes

I know! I am so homesick for Disneyland! :lovestruc I can't imagine waiting two years. I did find out that one of my best gfs is getting married so I'll be having to make a trip home for that and you know I'll be planning a few days for Disneyland too. pixiedust: I think it might be late this summer.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: A butch white Hallie Berry!!!! OMG, I have the best visual!! If you hold out long enough, I bet even poor Donny will go for it. ;)

I cannot imagine catching my parents in the act. I need a barfing smiley! :scared1:

It sounds like the BA benfits are good, yes? I you haven't really retired, I can't imagine that they'd deny your ID card. How long did you work for them?

The benefits working for BA were okay but not as good as some of the other airlines, apparently Virgin are pretty good to their staff. I worked for BA for sixteen and a half years but they are not as into looking after their staff and by the end I felt pretty sickened by them to be honest. They have agreed as part of the redundancy package to give us two years staff travel and retired staff passes for two years.
The only thing I'll miss is the cheap travel and accomodation but hey holidays are what you're supposed to use your severance money for are they not? I've had another look at the travel company webside and it def states that retired staff are eligible for the airline discounted rate for up to two rooms:banana: . This of course doesn't mean that the out laws are coming with us to WDW....that would just be blasphemy:scared1:

Donny was telling me tonight how one of his customers and his wife were in NYC for the holidays and had a FANTASTIC time. I did ask the question "And was he staying with a bunch of his inlaws for two weeks solid? No I didn't think so some how!!" MESSAGE RECEIVED AND UNDERSTOOD.
I've promised to work out a solution to this problem, I'm good that way you see....HMMMM tough call...where do I start? Any suggestions anyone:confused:

The cheap travel would be difficult to give up! :sad1: But working for a bunch of a$$es is no fun either. Tough call but I am glad you get your benefits for 2 years! :cheer2:

Again, tell Donny he gets NO play while you are at his folks. After a week, he'll be begging you to go to WDW! pirate:

Believe me it scarred me for life. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:scared1: I can only imagine!!! Are you all packed and ready? :hyper:

47 days until Mexico!!! :beach:

478 days until WDW!!! :wizard:

The plan may be starting to come together. I just happened to have been sitting tonight checking out the different hotels & resorts in Long Island when Donny came home from work and....Holy Expensive Room Rates Batman...can you believe we could get accomodation in WDW for about 20% of that price:eek: "....now my beloved is one sexy peice of mancandy :lovestruc but he can be a bit slow on the uptake. His answer "Oh right...so do you just want to stay with the family for the full two weeks then?". I'm surprised you didn't here my answer in your neck of the woods:scared1: I have advised him that :scared: THAT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN...I will now be looking into air fares and contacting the interline travel company to find out for sure if I'm eligible for the discounted rate. He thinks now that we could go and do just one park for one day and to save money we'll just play by the pool for the rest of the trip....isn't is sweet how naive my honey is:lmao:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: One park for one day? Poor sweet silly daft Donny! OMGoodness, he's a dreamer that one! Just take baby steps. Just last week he thought the whole idea was nuts. You'll break him in no time!

Are you still thinking about the POP or are you upgrading already? ;)
