How much per point would you be willing to spend on a DVC at the Polynesian? I know it will probably never happen, but....

$125, $150, more, less?

I would pay whatever the going rate would be. My spouse would love to see a DVC property on the monorail system.

Although I would prefer a DVC at Grand Floridian. Just my own personal tastes. :earsboy:

$0, I'm afraid. Will use the 7 month window to book.

With the popularity of the Polynesian, i doubt there would be much availability at the 7th month window

No problems at any of the other resorts, so I still think I'd take my chances.

A Polynesian or Grand Floridian DVC could be the most popular DVC of all (though I do love the Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk and Old Key West).

The price per point I would pay would depend on the point structure and resort amenities etc.

I would be highly interested in a monorail DVC resort

thanks

I've got to say that with the constant overcrowding that's already the case at MK compared to the other parks, I'm not sure Disney will hurry to add more rooms that feed right into MK.

$0. I stayed at the Polynesian in 1996 and wasn't crazy about it. I'll keep my BWV, none of the ones built after have turned my head yet. GF might be interesting.

Maybe a resale, but the current prices through Disney have exceeded my price threshold.::MickeyMo

This might be something hubby would add onto. The Poly has sentimental value to him cause he stayed there as a child with his grandparents.

Could not give it to me, unless they improve the pool situation and parking there.

I prefer DTD or Epcot resort area to Magic Kingdom. We hardly ever go there so it wouldn't be my first choice.

0$. We stayed there last October for the first time, and while the atmosphere and theming were neat for one visit, and it was cool to see the fireworks & Water Parade from our balcony, the novelty wore off near the end. That, combined with the fact that MK is not really our primary destination (as empty-nesters, we prefer DTD & Epcot), VPR doesn't hold that much appeal.

I'm with Shan, though: I stayed at the CR a few times with my parents right when WDW opened ('73 & '74) and, despite it's mediocre theming, it holds powerful memories for me. VCR - that might tempt me....

Resort size is as much a factor in availability as the popularity of the resort. Yes, if they built a DVC component at the Poly with only 100 rooms, it would be very difficult to book. But what's the point? People are gobbling up SSR points (seemingly) as quickly as they did VWL and BCV. I'm not as convinced as I once was that DVC's best course of action is to slap 150-200 DVC rooms on each current Deluxe resort.

If they were to build at the Poly (or GF or CR), there would be an element of people who would buy there just because it's the one resort DVC is selling at the time they choose to buy.

There would also always be self-proclaimed Poly lovers who would choose to trade out to other resorts. You can't tell me that people who buy at the Poly would stay there exclusively over the next 50 years. And, as MelissathePooh implied, the point charts for the resort would probably stand as a reason why we would have little interest in trading into the resort at 7 months.

I'm going to show my age a bit with this statement, but I really don't see what the attraction of the Poly is. I guess I always chalked it up as being largely nostaligia (as Shan referred to), but it holds no nostalgic value for me.

If a point came where the Poly was the only resort that DVC was selling when we decided to add-on, I'd either waitlist for another resort or, more likely, go resale.

I love the Poly, but we have enough points for us and quite frankly after buying our points at $65/point I wouldn't want to spend what they are asking now.

If such a resort did exist and we could get in I'd love to try it becuase I love to try different resorts, but it wouldn't make me want to buy more points.

I love the Polynesian. I would definitely by there. I think any DVC that would be offered on the 3 monorail resorts would go for a premium.

I would love to own at the Poly!!
Unfortunately,at $95 pp,we no longer see the value. It would be a tough sell to the Mrs.

Poly is a great resort, but I would only stay there on an AP code.

Doubt if I would buy a DVC property there, even a resale. We have enough points to do what we want now. I would probably just book at 7 months.
