If I'm a few hours late in picking up rental car.....

will there be any problems?

I have a ressie with Alamo and put down I'd be picking it up by 10:00AM on Sat., Nov. 29th and returning it by 2:00PM on Thur. Dec. 4th. This was before the air fares came out for Southwest and I see the flight I'm hoping to take comes in at 2:00pm on that Saturday. Will there be a problem picking the car up 4 hours past my ressie date? I hate to change the ressie on-line as the cost will probably have changed since I got a good price a few months ago.

They will hold the reservation until approx. midnight of the rental day.
You can try to modify the arrival time and I think Alamo leaves the price alone. Give it a try, they don't change it unless you say ok.

another alternative is to call them. Sometimes it is easier to speak with someone than to try to do it via the net.

Just give them a call or send an e-mail explaining about the flight change. They will fix it for you in the computer.

Somewhere I read (don't know if it was Alamo or not), that they would hold the car UNTIL your reservation time. I would either call or email - I finally got a good rate with Alamo and reserved for December. I've modified my reservation twice, and each time got a confirming email showing the modifications.

L&M is the one that will only hold your reservation for one hour after your scheduled pick up time. Alamo holds till midnight of the reservation day, BUT< to avoid that tricky return-get charged for an extra day - trick, it is always better to try to change your times to be within the proper time frame.
