If I have trip insurance and have to cancel--what happens to DVC points?

We have a cruise/VWL vacation booked for June 29-July 6. I have not purchased trip insurance yet because I know I have until 60 days out. In truth, I really wasn't going to!
But now BIL's Army reserve unit is going to get called up any day--he is on alert status. If he does get called up we will need to have the insurance in case, God forbid, something happens during our trip. We would need to fly home.
I know trip insurance from anyone would have the trip specifics covered. But what about my DVC points? I booked all but the youngest child with points plus our VWL stay, using all my BWV points through 2004 and even a few of my VWL 2004 in the process. I am guessing that to have the points restored to my account, I will have to book the insurance through DVC instead of say, access america, which is cheaper, correct?
Any information would be appreciated.

The insurance offered through DVC (Travel Guard) does not restore the points to your account, it pays you $5 per point. There are 3 different packages they offer, Vacation Point Coverage, Airline Ticket Coverage & Medical Coverages. I have the flyer in front of me,you can call 1-866-690-6858, refer to ID # 007004.

You might also want to make sure that deployment would be covered under the insurance. The restrictions on insurance like this are usuallly pretty strict.

Oh I'm not worried about him being deployed--he should be gone by then, and even if he leaves during our trip we don't need to say goodbye to him--I'm worried about if something happens to him in action.
