If extra magic hours are for resort guests only, how do they know if your're actually staying on property?

In particular EVENING extra magic hours? Before Magic Bands we used to show our resort key card when entering an attraction. Now that anyone can purchase a magic band, how do they distinguish those eligible for EMH and those that don't?

You have to tap your magic band on a Mickey head and the computer validates your band (with a CM looking)

Essentially, the normal line loads like a FP+ line

Often they only make 1 member of a family scan the band to keep lines moving.

When your MB is scanned for the attraction, it validates that you're a resort guest.

In morning EMH only guests with on site hotels linked to their MB or tickets are allowed in. Everyone else will get a blue Mickey

For evening EMH anyone can be in the park. But only guests staying on site can watch shows or ride rides. They enforce this by either having everyone enter through the FP lines so you have to scan your MB or card, or having an actual CM with a scanner scan as you try to enter the show or ride. If you're not on site, you'll get a blue Mickey head.

In the case of Disneyland Paris, which does not have Magic Bands, all onsite hotel guest get a paper Hotel Easypass, with their name , hotel and check out date when they check in. In the morning, the entrance area is roped off with CM's at the entry points. The CM's check that the person wishing to enter EMH has a vaild park ticket AND a valid Hotel Easypass. Usually one Hotel pass is issued at check in but as long as you show identification that you are are party of XYZ family or party you can get another Hotel Easypass

Usually if you wait out the first hour they stop checking bands. I stay on site, so it's a little annoying to see this.

Probabably because EMH are only 2 hours and most people will enter int he firwt hours. They make you swipe your magic band at the rides anyway and if you aren't a hotel guest, they'll know and you won't be allowed to ride.

In the evening does Disney actually check your magic band most of the time? Because rides like Splash Mountain don't have anyone at entrance of line.

THey have CM standing outside of the rides with a hand held scanner and they scan your MB to make sure you are staying at a resort.

Maybe it would help if you locked down threads that have been inactive over a certain length of time.
That policy would have to be enacted at the Admin-level and you are welcome to direct your helpful suggestion to admin@wdwinfo.com.

Equally and immediately effective would be if DISers check the "start date" of a thread prior to posting a new question or reply. :goodvibes
