Would I be getting a better discount if I use the TA from AAA. I want to book a week from Jan 11-18 at CS with dining. Is there any advantage or should I just do it myself online?
I had booked a 7 day stay at the end of Jan thru AAA months ago. When the new 4/3 deal came out, I called AAA becuase it was a savings of over $900 plus the $200 gift card. AAA rebooked the reservation at the same rate quoted by Disney. In my case, the only reason I stayed with AAA was I didn't feel like waiting to get my deposit back from them. So, if its a new ressie, go straight to Disney unless you really want the little extras AAA provides. I hate dealing with a TA and would avoid it at all costs
I booked through my AAA travel agent, and got exactly the same price as the quote I got on-line (I checked out resorts/prices & all before the official announcement so I'd know what I wanted & how much to expect. My guesstimates were all within a couple $. And once they made the official announcement, I did put in the same package request on-line...numbers quoted on Disney site were the same my AAA agent called back with.)
I love getting the AAA extras...we always use the discount card when we buy gifts/souvenirs. We love the AAA diamond parking...use it most days. And we drive, so it's nice to be able to get all the AAA maps & such...plus the AAA discount on hotels all along our route.
And it's not a on-hold long distance call to get info/make changes. My TA handles whatever, & calls me back with the info right away.
I was actually a little cheaper ($21) using AAA. I didn't get teh $200 gift card. I could have, but didn't want to deal with doing it again, the trip insurance, etc.
