I probably wouldn't for a bottle of Coke or such, but I wouldn't knock someone else for doing it.
On the other hand, I watch the scanners like a hawk to make sure the prices ring in correct. If the store has a policy about an item ringing in at the right price or it's free, you bet I'll make sure it's free. Mainly since if no one ever calls the store on it, you know that other people are getting overcharged too. A mistake here and there isn't a huge deal, but a few stores around me are notorious for it.

I remember shopping when I was 13-16 and I would go to various stores and they would ask if I wanted to apply. I did not look old enough for a credit card. I am 22 now and people think I'm 17 or 18. Store credit cards have gotten out of hand.
