All these AC posts have me chomping at the bit, and I've still got 48 hours until I start the single digit dance. Newbies often ask how you get excited for Disney. Answer? You start stupid posts.

So as I once again approach the AC, I want new ideas, stuff I've never thought of! Tell me the best thing you've ever done in the AC. Mine: Stood up and begged the Colonel to sing the Beer Song, in front of a capacity crowd. He made me sing it for him! DW was so embarrassed, but I got a standing ovation, I got smacked in the head by the Colonel's riding crop several times, and we have the whole thing on video. Classic stuff.

What can I do this time after hiding behind three Kungaloosh drinks?

As much as we love the AC, I now understand that I've never really enjoyed it to its fullest.

(Sheepishly, with a tone of embarassment) Are you sure about that? I once held a forty minute conversation with Otil T. Wren regarding how to fit your butt in a Yakoose Head mug. It would have gone on longer, but they closed. When I invited Otil back to the Swan, I almost ended my marriage.

Comedy isn't pretty.

Hmmm . . . puts me in mind of a fairly recent conversation we had with Emil Bleehall concerning the pros/cons of a plaid jacket versus a boy scout uniform . . . . . .

I had a great moment with Emil. I'm a big fan of the Devonshires, a 60's specialty cover band that often plays (or at least used to play, haven't seen them there in a while) the West Side stage, including New Year's Eve. Most bands on the West End are or used to be like them.

Anyway, we were there in September, and there was some band wearing all black, the lead singer had hardware in his nose, and he didn't really sing, but more or less grunted. Emil was sitting outside (often they put a character out there to drum up business) and I went out to have a smoke.

(Note: AC is a non-smoking club and I NEVER break smoking rules).

Emil, with his wide-mouthed, in-character grin, says "hey, don't yee think dees guys are great?" After enough Kungaloosh rum punch to pickle a goat and in the searing September heat, I found the band terrible and wasn't shy about saying so. I said "no, I want the Devonshires back, these guys s*$k."

Emil came completely out of character, the only time I've ever an AC character do so, and said "yeah man, these guys are intrepidly horrid." Then, right back into character as a couple came up the steps. Rich stuff!

My favorite time in AC was when DH was picked for the "radio Show" commercial...Jump up for Jinkies!!! He made a complete hiney of himself, so out of character for him and it was hysterical!! We had our two children with us (at that time, 10 and 11)....hold your flames, I now know that adults do not appreciate children in the clubs.... the only reason I took them was that I had read in a guide book that AC was a not to be missed. Anyway, I am glad I took them, that night was one of their favorite memories of Disney. They still mock Dad by making antlers on their heads with their hands and saying, "Jump up for Jinkies".
