I have a bunch of Penne pasta left over from dinner last night (standard pasta and marinara sauce w/ veggies cooked in red wine and herbs). It was really good, but I'd like to do something different with the sauceless pasta left over.

Any ideas?

Drain a can of mandarin oranges and place that with a small can (drained) of sliced black olives and toss the pasta with poppy seed dressing.

It is quite tasty as a side dish.

Stir fry some red, yellow, and green peppers in olive oil until tender, then toss with the pasta a splash of olive oil and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Yummy!

I have sauteed shrimp in butter and garlic, added a couple tablespoons of chicken stock and some corn starch to make it thicker and then poured it over left over pasta. It was delicious

I used penne last week with some sliced chicken breast, strips of sundried tomato, some chunks of fresh mozarella and a couple of big spoons of pesto. It was really good. :goodvibes

Mayo, celery, chopped hard boiled eggs, frozen peas thawed, ham or bacon chopped, and some garlic powder. Cumin if you like it spicy or shredded cheese if you like some cheese.

Or....I have been addicted to Newman's Own Sesame Ginger Dressing.:thumbsup2 Toss and eat. Add fresh veggies if you got them.

We like to set up a pasta bar. Give every oen a bowl full of pasta and hten let each individual put toppings in their bowl. Dump one bowl ata tiem in a little bit of olive oil in a skillet and heat. We tend to use up bits and pieces leftovers, but sometimes we make things just for the bar. Typical toppigns include:

olive oil
butter
red sauce
tabasco sauce

chopped olives
sauteed mushrooms
sauteed onions
sauteed garlic
sauteed peppers
sauteed carrots

heated frozen meatballs
diced cooked chicken

garlic
Italian seasoning
red pepper flakes
outhwest seasoning

grated cheddar
parmesean

You get the idea. . .

Or, make CHicken Marsala. Pan fry some chicken breast with a flour coating in olive oil. Remove from the skillet and in the same pan mix 2 parts Marsala wine, one part lime juice and one part chicken broth. Stir in a bit of flour to thicken and simmer for 10 minutes or so. Add hte chicken back in and simmer a few minutes longer then serve over pasta. Mmmmm.

Last week I made a really yummy little dish. It was pasta with blanched green beans, toasted walnuts, Parmesan cheese, and some Italian seasoning. It was very yummy and very simple to make.

Thanks for the ideas. :) They sound yummy.

All the ideas sound great! Me, I'd throw a can of cream of mushroom soup (warmed with milk) on it with some sauted chicken. Sprinkle with parmasan cheese.

We make hot Italian Tuna Pasta, don't knock it till you try it...delicious!

Saute ...1 can tuna packed in olive oil, crushed red pepper flakes to taste, fresh basil, 1/2 cup chopped onion, and tomatoe sauce. Great over linguine or shells!

lots of things you could do
My fav would probably be sauted shrimp with lots of garlic and a little broth and white wine.
Or chicken, mushrooms, sherry and 1/2& 1/2.

Drain a can of mandarin oranges and place that with a small can (drained) of sliced black olives and toss the pasta with poppy seed dressing.

It is quite tasty as a side dish.

This sounds delish to me! I'm gonna try it.
