We're going to Disney in Sept. for our 6th anniversary. This will be our 2nd time to be there on our anniversary. Our DD will be almost 4 and we would like to do something memorable that we can do every year there. This is the best trip to include a family anniversary.Does anyone have any ideas of what we could do or any restaurants that do something for an anniversary?

I've heard of people going for anniversaries and birthdays and having special things done for them.

Do you tell your resort when you make a reservation that it is for a special event? Also, do you tell the restaurants about the event everytime you eat somewhere?

We are celebrating our 15th anniversary with our kids. Maybe we should get the bride and groom mickey ears? :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I don't know about anniversaries (but would assume they are similar), but when we went in January it was part of my son's birthday gift. I told them when I made my ADR for character breakfast at 'Ohana. They were ready when we checked in with a lei for him & a birthday card signed by all of the characters at that meal. They also brought him a special muffin with a candle & it seemed like Mickey paid him extra special attention when it was time to do the parade thing through the restaurant.

When we go back in Jan '07 it will be as part of our 10th anniversary celebration, so I look forward to hearing what others have to add.

I was there for my 40th birthday and had that noted on all my ADR's. I did get a cupcake at CRT. However, I would not expect anything extra that way you won't expect a cupcake and if you get one then it is just a pleasant surprise. I would order a cake for one of your ADR. I have not done that but heard so many good things about their cakes from other threads on this site.

What about having a nice dinner at LeCellier or at Chef's de France?

We are going to be at WDW this June for our 13th anniversary. We are renting the Grand 1 for us and our friends on our actual anniversary day.
We will be on the yacht from 9-10:30 where we will see the Electrical Water Pagent and Wishes. Our friends are going through Grand Floridian dining and have ordered champagne, choc. covered strawberries, carafe of lemonade and tea for the kids.

My Dh and I ate at Boma's for our 1st anniversary. They gave us a card signed by everyone and a wonderful dessert platter.

I like the nice dinner ideas mentioned.
Our anniversary is also in September and we were there for it last year with the kids and another family. I decided to order a mickey shaped cake and have it delivered to our room before we came back from the park. It was delivered just as requested with plates, napkins and forks. I kept it a secret and the kids really enjoyed it - yummmmmm . . .

We leave in less than 2 weeks for our much anticipated Anniversary trip.
Here's what I've planned...

Wishes Fireworks Cruise - leaving from the WL dock and I'm having champagne and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to the boat before hand.

Dinner at 1900 Park Fare at GF - having a miniature wedding cake (a little bigger than cupcake size) delivered to our table for dessert ($25)

Dinner at Artist Point at WL - having an Anniversary cake delivered to our table for dessert ($12)

Wearing the Mickey bride/groom pins available at Magic Kingdom

A welcome basket I ordered, to be delivered to our room upon check in. I had champagne flutes engraved (Oriental Trading $8) and Tshirts made up....Mine says I  my husband and DH's says I  my wife...and I took them to WL (since we live so close). They are holding on to them and will incorporate them in to a fruit and champagne basket.

I have the Disney Instrumental Impressions cd and am bringing it with our cd player, and will stuff it under our little guys stroller and at the perfect moment, I'll bring it out and we'll dance.

A horsedrawn carriage ride at FW that I reserved...and we'll bring our champagne glasses and a bottle of the bubbly.

There...I've let out all my secrets and surprises and HOPE and PRAY my DH doesn't decide to get on this board and read this!!!!!!!

Have a blessed Anniversary and if you want any help planning and preparing...let me know! I have so much fun doing this stuff!

oh Yeah...one more surprise!

Lunch at Coral Reef/Epcot - I arranged for a diver to go underwater with a banner that says 'Happy Anniversary' and our names.

They will do this for you if you call ahead of time!

That is a great idea. Where did you call - the hotel? We're staying at Pop Century. How far in advance did you order it and did you just ask for an anniversary cake. How $$$ ? We are going to CRT for dinner and I have told them its our anni. does anyone know what they do.A signed card would be great. Sorry for all the questions just trying to make it a wonderful anni. Thanks for all the help. :bride:

The restaurants and resorts may or may NOT do something. It is at their discretion and not their obligation. It is a real treat when they decide to surprise you with something, but you should go NOT expecting something. Then when something does happen, you will appreciate their gesture even more.

Call the resort, they will get you in touch with room service who can arrange the cake. The prices ranges from about $8 and up.

My husband and I got married at Disney five years ago and have been able to make it back there two out of the five years for our anniversary, on our First anniversary I called The Grand and had them make a replica of the top of our wedding cake and had it served for dessert at the California Grill, we ended up getting the cake for free and everyone from check in at hotel to dinner knew it was our annivesary, infact the Wilderless lodge sent up a small bottle of champagne on our special day. It's amazing what they know there. Now every trip we go to California Grill, it is by far the best restaurant, I recommend planning your reservation so you will be there during "wishes" they dim the lights and bring in the narration, and the view is amazing, with no crowds to fight with, it truly is a magical time everytime we go.

Good luck with your plans

I would love some help planning a romantic trip! My boyfriend and I are going in August--I actually think he might pop the question! The fireworks cruise is a big dream for me. We don't have a lot of money for extras beyond the Park Hopper tickets we already purchased, with the dining package and a stay at Coronado Springs. Any ideas?

Okay, please tell me how you arranged this! We have lunch planned on our 20th anniversary (well, I planned it) at Coral Reef and I really wanted to tell them when I made the ADR that it was an anniversary and I wanted to sit close to the aquarium (my DH loves aquariums/fish). Unfortunately she said she couldn't take requests, I had to ask at the podium when we got there.

I would love to ask for the diver/banner, please help!

Thanks!

Marjorie

Looks like all that week the park closes at 10pm, so that would be what time wishes started. If you are looking to plan dinner at California Grill you could easily have reservation any time after 7:30pm and still be around for firework show.

Good luck
