Hey guys! Looking for ideas for a 10 year olds birthday. This will be an extended family vacation. I don't want to break and the bank and unfortunately she is "Disney spoiled" with several trips a year.

Here is a list of things she has done before:

BBB
Pirate and Pals Fireworks Cruise
Pirate Adventure Cruise from GF

We are going Thanksgiving week and so far there are no dessert parties scheduled.

Any ideas ?

You can order her a cake to have either in the room if staying on property or at an ADR of your choice. All the details on how to order are available in the first post of this thread here. HTH

How about Pirate's League or a character meal with a special cake delivered? You could also do an in-room gift delivery through Disney Florist.

Great ideas.... Any thoughts on something to do as a larger group?

What size group? Are you looking for more of a meal or activity? Is there a general budget range? Do you want it to be in a theme park or just anywhere in WDW?

My older DD is 10 is also "Disney spoiled," so I can probably give you some ideas of what she's enjoyed.

We've done the Family Magic Tour, and it's cute, but it's geared toward younger kids. My DD would think she was too old and mature for that.

When our granddaughter turned 10, I simply returned her "child's" admission to her and gave her a fake adult one and told her that next time she visited Disney World, she would need to make sure she had her "old" ticket with her so she could now be an adult. Turning ten with Disney on the mind means you go from a child to an adult.

CRT with the chocolate slipper.

I can't pay my 10 year old DD to go to CRT. I take my 4 year old, while DH and 10 year old go off and ride big rides. I can't complain, as it saves me $100+.

My DD feels she is entirely too mature for princesses/BBB. However, she loves 100 Acre Woods friends, especially Eeyore. Go figure. We have to do CP on occasion so that she can get her Eeyore fix. She thinks "cute" characters are for older kids (100 Acre Wood, Duffy Bear, Baymax, Chip and Dale, Pluto) and is a huge Tsum Tsum fan. Tsum Tsums are all the rage among her classmates, and many of them have the Tsum Tsum tops and leggings.

We will have 9 people total. Would like an activity to do as a group. We already have dinner plans at Tusker House.

My 10 year old says she wants to do CRT every single trip. She's that kid that knows they aren't real but won't admit it. My son told her last night that the princesses were fake and she told him to take it back. :P She still likes for us to put gifts from Santa under the tree. I think she'll forever be a kid at heart.

My daughter will celebrate her birthday on our next trip down there. All she really wanted was to go to DHS on her birthday and eat in the ABC Commissary. She didn't want anything else special, but we will get her a "its my birthday" pin and probably let her pick out a special souvineer.

We did an Illuminations Fireworks Cruise on my son's 10th birthday this past May and had private dining do a birthday cake that we surprised him with on the cruise. He really enjoyed it. It was $372 for the cruise. For a group of 9 that is roughly the same cost as a dessert party.

Since you have a dinner planned, I won't suggest other full meals.

Here are some ideas that we have done or want to do, and which all get the seal of approval from DD10:

Rent the party room at Goofy's Candy Company (We all love making candy there, even the adults)
Ice cream sundae party at Beaches & Cream
Illuminations cruise (complete with cake and decorations)
Private dessert party in EPCOT for Illuminations (The UK area is good for a group of 10 or fewer. Even with food and beverage minimums, it would be close the price of a regular dessert party, and you can customize your menu)
Mini-golfing (could be combined with Beaches & Cream)
Cabana rental at Blizzard Beach
Star Wars dessert party (if it's offered for your dates)
Splitsville party
Horseback riding at Fort Wilderness

We planning a trip for next year for Christmas and our DS 10th Birthday as well trying to plan something for his birthday. I was leaning towards Downtown Disney in the Morning to do Lego Store and then go Bowling at Splitsville and eat lunch there. Then after a little break let him choose dinner location (6 months ahead of time of course so we can get an ADR) and afternoon park.
