Ice Station Cool rehab

Aww, man, Beverly does not taste like "earwax in a cup".

I think it confuses people because it's not sweet- it has a very distinctive herbal flavor, and is bitter. It's almost a savory taste, not sweet, but it is refreshing and unique. Obviously people like it, because they make it and sell it. :)

I wonder what people from countries where Beverly is sold think of our sodas?

I personally love foreign soda, and whenever I travel, I have to try the local specialties. Ting from Jamaica so far is my favorite- it's a grapefruit soda and it blows Fresca completely out of the water with it's deliciousness. (Don't worry. It is sweet, and tastes nothing like Beverly!)

I'm glad to see it's open again, I'll be sure to duck in for some Beverly goodness in January. :)

We're really gonna miss walking through the icy-cold entrance with the snow all around us - it was great on a hot day!

Totally agree! That was my favorite part. Now I feel like I'm going to be disappointed by this "new and improved" version. :sad1:

we are big fans of the Israeli Kinley Lemon and the Gingerale from ...wherever it's from...Mozamique??? Beats the pants off Canada Dry (who'da thunk it?)

On a little last minute solo two-day turn-around, sanwiched between 2 halves of a business trip in February, I spent about a 1/2 hour in Ice Station Cool recommending the Beverly to pefect strangers. (It helps if you know that I look a lot like the quintessential gray-haired grannie who loves you a lot and would never ever EVER tell you a fib.) In my extremely unscientific experiment, the results were 100% the same -- regardless of age, sex, or apparent national origin. Can you guess which way the poll leaned? :) or :sad1:

I've heard it's actually used as a mixer of some sort. And you know, Tonic water would be a real shockeroo too -- if you were expecting 7-Up...

It is open, we went in this past Wednesday. I strongly recommend going in, especially if there are icy sidewalks outside. There's enough sticky soda on the floor to give your shoes great traction for the rest of the day.

Does anyone have any pics of the new and improved ice station cool they can share?? :goodvibes

We just got back from Disney (3/17 - 3/22) and Ice Station Cool has reopened as Club Cool. Still the same free drink setup, but no snow. They also added a place to buy frozen Cokes - you know, the stuff you can get at any gas station convenience store. The twist at Club Cool is that you can "create your own cup" with Mr. Potato-like parts and now you have upgraded from a $4 drink to a $12 experience. Or, you can shrinkwrap your plastic Coke bottle. Not sure if there's a charge for that. The good news is that there are still unsuspecting people who go in for the Beverly. That will never get old! :lmao:

I like Beverly for two things:

If you have a nasty taste in your mouth, this will eradicate it better than any mouthwash can.
It's also really refreshing when it's a hot day and you are getting tired and/or dehydrated.

Mezzo Mix (my favorite) is nothing but a 50-50 mixture of Fanta Orange and Coke. It's generically known as Diesel or Spezi in Germany, depending on where you are.

Is the entrance still the same? With the man frozen in the ice? (where it was really cold?)

We were just at Epcot on Monday and visited Club Cool. The entrance is no longer the way it was before. Now it is just doors that open to the drink tasting area and "gift" shop. No more cold, no more frozen guy.

We went in Nov at T'giving, and then in March and BOTH times we were the ONLY family in there! Cm's offered to take our pics each time. :) I don't think people know what it is or that it is open! :teeth: We went back later in the day and a few people were inside. People looked hesitant to go in, not having any clue what it was.

I like that the drinks come out with the correct amount in them for the cup, reducing mess and stickiness on that floor. We like the new Club Cool. DD bought one of the new build a cup thingies with icee in it over Thanksgiving.
