IBS problems at Disney

At the drug store there is something called The Digestive Advantage that is supposed to help people with IBS. Has anyone heard of it or taken it? It is some kind of non drug supplement.

WOW I can believe other people suffer from this crazy problem like I do. I really thought I was the only one. I have put off going to the theme parks ( Disney,Universal) for years now. Afraid I wouldn't be able to make it from the parking area to inside the park.Or the lines to the bathroom would be to long. Anxiety Always makes the IBS worse. But we are going in a couple of weeks to Universal orlando. I am trying to get as much info about entering the park process. Hoping it will diminish some of the anxiety. I understand you have to walk through the city, before getting to the main gate. Geeze I hope there are bathroom there. *sigh " I can do this "
You CAN do this!
I try so hard to be in control of IBS rather than let it be in control of me. I definately don't always manage this...especially when at Disney :sad2:

I'm so happy I found this thread!! I was considering starting one, happened to do a search, and couldn't believe there were a few out there. I also feel like this only happens to me, so it's so nice to read all these posts that say "who cares, just go, you'll never see these people again". I HATE public bathrooms, but I don't want to spend my whole vacation running back to my hotel room. I've had a really bad month with this, just got a prescription from my gastro to try, so I'm really hoping it helps. We leave in 2 weeks and have the free dinin plan, and I'd really like to enjoy it at least a little bit. Of course worrying about it isn't helping either!

Thanks for the tips everyone!!

As soon as you get out of the parking deck into the "Circular" area there are rest rooms. You'll pass through security and the moving walkways and at the end of those there are more rest rooms to your left.

This is the thread for me! I have suffered with IBS since Elementary school. I always felt like I was the only one desperate to know where a bathroom was just in case! I have learned through the years what my trigger foods are, but I also know that overeating is a big trigger as well, so when travelling, I try to eat light and avoid too much fiber, which can set me off. I also never leave home without Immodium! I also am allergic to eggs, which further complicates the dietary issue. I frequently have to ask if an item was prepared with eggs and breakfast is, of course, my least favorite meal! Not too many eggless breakfast dishes. I have definitely learned to control my IBS and not let it control me! Good luck to all!! :thumbsup2

Woo Hooo !!!!! I did it.. We just got back from Orlando. I took a small piece of a xanax before leaving the hotel ( to calm my nerves just a bit ). Some Immodium, and we were off. Bathrooms were located just around the corner from everywhere. But I didn't need them..... YEAH :cool1:

It seems everyone here has the same kind of IBS...the "D" kind. I have the "C" kind...exact opposite. Anyone have this kind? I still don't know what foods trigger problems for me, but I have constant left side pain that is really irritating. I take lots of fiber, TRY to drink lots of water, but still have the pain in my side alot. I just wish I could figure out what it is that I'm eating that doesn't like me! I feel bloated and tired all the time, and I'm worried about the trip in a month. I don't want to be a stick in the mud.

the 2 friends that i travel with have ibs as well, so at least when they see me running for a bathroom, they understand. and vice versa. it's quite a difficult thing, but since i've had it for so long, i tend to know now what i can and can't eat, but every once in a while, you will get that sneak attack that you just can't explain... by the way, fountain soda is the devil for ibs.

Ladybugsy, I usually have the C kind, especially when I travel, which is why I have Zelnorm. I've started going back and forth, though, and the last year the D has been worse at Disney.

In July I was back to the C kind, but even I relief from that, it got even worse. I spent our last day at Disney walking around WS wishing someone could stick me with a big pin and let me deflate like a balloon. If that gas had been helium, I would've floated halfway to the moon. It was pure misery, but I was smiling and not telling my dh how incredibly miserable I was, because he would've left. He was being deployed 3 days later, so I really wanted him to stay and enjoy Epcot. He was asking if I wanted to eat at every country, and all I wanted was a handful of Gas-X. :earseek:
