. . . and goofed up and started a new thread. You would think after 2,000+ posts that I would have figured out how to do this!
We've been married 20 years and never have, but my dh has one coming up in two weeks. He's going to India! It wasn't practical for both of us to go b/c it's two weeks in the middle of the school year, at my busiest time of the year at work. Also, it's an expensive trip and would have been a stretch for two of us to pay for the trip and hire a live-in babysitter for two weeks. And our college freshman oldest child has five days off at Thanksgiving, so we want him to be able to come home and find most of his family here. I really encouraged dh to go. His mother grew up in India, and his uncle is teaching this semester at the boarding school she and her siblings attended. The uncle is taking dh and 18 of his cousins through their childhood geography. He is literally the only person who can do this. This "roots" tour was just too important for dh to pass up IMO.
