YIKES!!! The prices of those new vehicles!!!:scared1: Don't these car dealers realize I have IMPORTANT things to spend money on, like VACATIONS!!;) ;)
In all seriousness, though, I can't imagine how people afford to buy more than one vehicle. All the vehicles I looked at that can accomodate 5 passengers comfortably are almost what I pay a month on my mortgage! I think I really complicated things by having more than 2 kids:teeth: . Oops!:crowded:

Yup prices on vehicles are outrageous. Maybe you need to look into a pre-owned vehicle so that you can still afford a vacation. Don't get a vehicle and have to pay way more then you can afford a month. That payment will stay with you for a while.

My brother's minivan was just totaled & since he has 6 year-old triplets, who still have to be in carseats, he bought a used Suburban. With gas prices where they are, he didn't really want to...but to accomodate those kids & carseats, he felt he had to. (he has a 12 year-old also). However, he will NEVER drive his commute with that vehicle!

New cars are costly. My older DS was thinking of buying something new, but the monthly payment just doesn't appeal to him right now!

Ha! I thought you were going to say..."but I'm pregnant!" LOL!!!

We buy used. We bought a used Yukon and paid $15K less.

I would like to replace my minivan as well but have decided that I will not purchase another vehicle until I no longer need a minivan (Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, etc). Then, I'm going to get something really good !!!

My 1998 Ford Windstar has almost 120,000 miles on it and needs some work. We are looking at 2002 or 2003 Windstars with low mileage with only 25,000 miles around $13,000. New vans are soooooo much money! I need a reliable van and am getting a bit nervous about the reliability of this one! Good luck deciding!

That's why I'm only having two kids. I just bought a used SUV. I was very nervous about buying a used car, but we were really impressed with what we saw. I just got a 3 year old Infiniti QX4 for the same price I paid for my new Grand Am 5 years ago. Granted, it's a used car with 45,000 miles on it. But, it's still a lot nicer than my grand am. You might seriously want to look at used vehicles.

Well our one van that we inherited from my deceased sister has 160,000 and mine has like 65,00 and is 12 years old, so its definetely time for a new one. We decided we are getting the new 2005 chrysler with the fold down seats. Its dh dream come true. We have saved for quite a while to be able to afford it. When we buy something, we usually keep it to its just about unusable so we really get our moneys worth out of it. We will probably replace the other one with a used vehicle when the time comes.

When we looked at new minivans two years ago, new ones were around $30,000 and two-year-old ones were about $15,000. We added the extended warranty for peace of mind, and have been very happy with our "new" van.

The last two cars we've bought have been two years old with 27,000 and 31,000 miles, respectively. I don't think we will ever buy another new car.
