I was stopped at airport!

This is very funny now but was a nervous when it was happening!.

it seems that somehow during my disney stay I came in contact with gunpowder resude and it got on my fanny pack and film and when i went through the x-ray it showed up as supposius material and I was held back untill they figured it out they tsa were very nice about it and explained everything to us as it happened. they think if came from the playhouse disney show at MGM when the papers flew out, i grabbed a bunch to save for scrapbooking and then also changed my film those were the films that had the stuff on ( i know cause i labled with day and park). anyway wondering if anyone else had that happen?

Do you use lotion with glycerin? If so, that is most likely the culprit. I've had it happen once before but I find it odd that they told you that it showed up on the xray bc to my knowledge, an xray cannot pick up suspicious materials on the surface. After your bag went thru the xray, did they run the little wand over it? When it happened to me, it was bc they ran the wand over my laptop - they seem to do that about every 4-5 times I fly - and this one time it came up positive. The supervisor told me some lotions have a high percentage of glycerin and that registers as positive on their equipment.

They stopped me in Orlando because three lighters showed up in my fanny pack. They did the wand thing, I am sure to protect themselves against something awful happening if they opened it up. They told me there was a limit of two lighters (first I have heard of that one) so I said, keep the purple one, it is almost empty.
They wand anything suspect as it will let them know if there is an explosive device in it. We get our laptop hit about every other time. The tiny little monopod for the digital camera REALLY got their attention once. We no longer take that with us.
They are just trying to keep us safe, cannot find an issue with that.

Well, while I would hate for this to happen to me, I am quite happy that it would appear that their equipment is working and that they are doing their jobs for our safety. There are probably so many possibilities of what could set off the machine or make a positive test.

Indeed, it is always good to know that their equipment is working well. The last time that I went through Logan I had a key chain in my carry on that I was taking home as a gift. It caused a few problems as I was going through security, however they were quite friendly about it.

One time when we were flying back all the change went to one end of my wallet and they pulled it as looking suspicious. Large mass of metal. It is strange what it will and won't pick up. Last year in Birmingham they didn't check DD in her wheelchair that closely but when we left Orlando they did. They made me take her shoes off and everything.
