I was at MK TODAY!! Photopass question??????

I had a cd burned this past sunday, 5/15 at toontown, and the CM went through, adding sigs, borders and such.

I love photopass, but I hope the system gets fine tuned so there are more photographers, and more locations to get the cd, manipulate your pictures.

I was able to add borders and enhancements to the cd at both ToonTown and EPCOT and get them burned on the cd. The picture in my signature has Aurora's autograph and Disney added it on at ToonTown and put it on the cd. We had ours burned on the way out of EPCOT after park closing on the last day of the trip. Now, it may be that DTD and Grand Floridian can't do the enhancements, but I had it done inside both park locations.

I had embilishments done at GF and CD was burned at WOM store. I also saw someone getting things added to pics at that store.

As of 5/17 you can no longer get the enhanced photos on your CD at the parks or from home. I was DEVASTATED when I found this out on Thursday 5/18, as I had added signatures and logos to many of my 98 pictures that I was planning to have burned to CD. They said people were having problems printing the enhanced pictures at home so they stopped putting them on the CD's. They did offer to print some of my favorites for free, so i got four free 5x7's, but I had probably enhanced over 20 pictures on the cd, so it was a small consolation.

The CM's taking the pictures and working in the stores (we went to the one in EPCOT) weren't even aware of the change. I was really upset by the whole thing, but I did get the CD anyway. If you do find any suitable clip art online, please let me know. I hate to bootleg, but I'd really like those siggys I had! (I need Pluto, Minnie, Daisy Duck, and Goofy)

The key to getting the enhancements to print is to enlarge the picture to 8x12, and then crop it to fit all the enhancements, and then tell the place you want the pic 4x6. I did that at Costco after they didn't print right the first time and they turned out great the second time.

We had no problem printing the pictures with the enhancements. It doesn't really seem like they thought the Photopass through completely. The lines were pretty long to get the CD burned due to people picking out the enhancements. If they added a few more kioks, it would have moved quicker. Too many complaints about the time it took to purchase the cd may be the reason they stopped the enhancments. They need more photographers by the characters also. If you can't get the enhancements anymore, it doesn't seem worth the price for the CD. You can take your memory card when you get your pictures developed and get a CD for like eight bucks at Costco.

Well, darn! I was really looking forward to having the special boarders on the pictures and some of the features like us holding tink. I iwill still get the CD since it is a good way for everyone to be in the pictures. Still bumming out though.

The holding Tink and Simba pictures are on my CD. Since the photographer adds them when he takes the picture (how they do that, I don't know), they are part of the original image and are already on the cd.

I did hear different stories about why they stopped letting people put the enhancements on the cd. One was that it was taking too long. I thought I had that one covered because i had most of mine already done before I went to burn the cd. There was hardly ever a line when I went to the Epcot photo center. And, I had a good idea of what I wanted so I zipped right through them with the CM. I think self-serve kiosks for doing enhancements would be nice, too.

Good to know the "special" shots are still available as we only have the Tink one (the last time we were at WDW was when PhotoPass was first introduced in 2004.)

I was so devasted on 5/18 as well... I was about in tears! I had my hopes up for this for months.. I was also given 4 free 5 x 7's.. but this didn't make me thrilled.. I really wanted my autographs! I am so crushed! I worked so hard on this photopass all week.. we hda 309 pics taken!

Then on top of that.. they left tink out of ours hands on 3 pics.. lucky for me I had my laptop.. and had to go back to the Floridian before we left to fix the problem... I was not happy!

I also believe the reason it was changed b/c they didn't know that it was going to be this huge response to it.. and its taking way too much time in the line... for some people just that want one print... it really stinks.. I think we should all write and let them know how we feel! I am so crushed!

I'm always amazed at the photopass threads. I must walk around with a "Don't photograph me or else" face on. We never are approached, I always have to go find someone, and it's usually only near the castle and occassionally at the character meet and greets. I was pretty gutted last trip to not find anyone with Mickey at The Judge's Tent.

Someone needs to give me a photopass FAQ link!! We never have more than maybe 8 photos on our cards by the end. Which is a shame as I know I would probably buy a lot more. Plus it's one of the only ways I ever get to be in a photo! So I guess I would just like a photo, not so bothered about the enhancements at this point!

I am also very upset about this new info on the photpass!!! I really wanted all the borders and stuff on my cd! Now I don't really want to buy the CD. I wonder if enough of us complain, they will try to fix the system, instead of just scrapping the enhancements? If the added the self-serve, I would be happy to do it myself, maybe they could put a time limit on the machines like they do at Costco?

I would definitely advised writing Disney. They will see that the loss of enhancements is making many people re-think using the service at all. If they don't use the service, they won't buy even one pic, let alone multiples and/or the CD. And keep in mind since PhotoPass is relatively new, they may well be working on ways to bring back the enhancements and keeping the lines short.

I'm a little disappointed to hear all this. This was going to be our first time using the Photopass. Now, I have a question for all, if you don't buy the CD, but want to buy the pictures at home online can you then add the enhancements to them?
