I want to name my baby...Tiana

IMO Disnee is even worse than Disney because at least when you see Disney you know how to pronounce it where someone could misread the ee as an 'a' sound.

I guess your child can rule out any career at Disney, Universal, Warner Bros, etc. in the future.....

I know there are some great threads on here from the past looking for Disney RELATED names. There is soooo much to the Disney empire. You really can pick something related that makes you feel great and that won't cause stress on your child.

I loved the post recommending you really look at some of your favorite things about Disney, characters, rides, places and try to figure out a name from there.

One of the threads helped us name our DD. We went with Lilliana. Lillian for Walt's wife, but I don't really love that name, so we added an a and were very happy. Of course the name I had made up turned out to be real and made it on the top 100 baby girl names for her birth year, but eh...we still like it.

Congratulations on the baby BTW (or is this just hypothetical? That's cool too! =o))

I wonder if it's going to be twins. Boys.... or maybe girls? :confused3

@ harleyquinn wasnt that a wonderful idea! we are really going to have to look into that. That and your idea was the best idea out there...do you think you can post a link to those threads on here.
I do have to clear up the most important part my little honey bees i am not pregos... i will edit my question when i have time.
:(
DH and i have been trying for 5 months now to get pregnant. I have never before thought so much about babies, when i watch tv and see a new born on the screen i tear up... when i see a Huggies diaper comercial i litterally start to BAWL OUT CRY...:happytv:
im thinking my clock is a tick tick tickin away...
so yeah during the past few months we have already picked out a boys name but Disney would be for a girl. A girl is what I want to have so I am working on the perfect girl name in my taste. so I apologize from my heart that I didnt mention that. Sheesh now Im wondering since I didnt mention that in the beginning will i start getting threats or something on here... scary thought:eek:

strangely enough, I read this the other day and had never heard of anyone named Disney before, but just now came across a man (I believe older - like in his 60s) named Disney! I couldn't believe it

I wonder if it's going to be twins. Boys.... or maybe girls? :confused3

Right?

OP - if you're for real, don't do this. How about Lily, Walt's wife, and you could even throw in Disney as a middle name, and essentially it would be Walt's wifes full name: Lillian Disney LastName.

IMO, middle names are saved for *unique*, if you will. That's why my Danny's is "Quinn", because that's as unique as I'll go. His brothers is Anthony. ;)

Heck, my dogs have more -normal- names: Charley & Hazel!

If you're for real, please don't do this. It's really out-there. Did anyone suggest Sidney? A simple switching of letters?

Imagine if your mother named you Payless or Kohls or Target.....or 6 Flags, Busch, Universal.... but there are a lot of Chase's running around. Hmmmm....

Please don't. It will be cute when the kid is little, but as the kid grows up it will be horrible for them. All their high school and college years they will have to explain why they are named Disney. Especially in high school when all they would want to do is fit it, and Disney is just such an odd name. They will resent it and you.

Terrible idea. If you love your yet-to-be-conceived child, don't do it.

You know what popped into my mind after reading this? "Disnaay has a horse face! Neigh neigh neigh!" Obviously my mind just went into its 5yr old child place.

I agree, use it as a middle name if you must use it. Don't use it as a first name. You may think it is cute, but it will be a hard name for the child to deal with.

I misunderstood, I thought you were already pregnant. Not that you had to mention you weren't, your OP reads like you already are though.
Good luck to you and your hubby :goodvibes You'll know the perfect name when the time comes.

IMO, it's a really stupid name for a kid.....but it's for you and your husband to decide.

Okay, so if the OP's post is real as she says it is, all I can say is that on the bright side, it's a middle name so it doesn't have to be used by the person if she doesn't like it. And since no one asked this question, I'll bite -- What is the chosen first name?

I personally think Disnee is not a good name -- well, it's okay for a dog or a cat, but not a person. It will draw attention to her in a negative way. With so much bullying these days, why put that on a child and why put that on an adult who will never be looked at professionally? Okay, the name would work for certain professions, but those are not professions I would want my daughter to have when she grows up.

This reminds me, when I was pregnant with my first child, DH and I were considering Leia for a girl but two things stopped us...the major one was all I could think was my 13 year old little girl coming home crying because the boys were using her name as "I wanna Lay-ya" in sexual terms and then we thought she might get teased a bit because of Star Wars so we decided against it, but we didn't have a girl anyway so that wouldn't have mattered in the long run. Also, when my oldest son was born, I originally wanted to name him Nicola (my family is from Italy) but I didn't want him to get made fun of for having a girly name so we settled on Nicholas instead. I still love the name and I wasn't upset about not spelling it the Italian way so it wasn't a big deal.

If it's a middle name I don't see why not but I probably wouldn't use it as a first name just because it might single her out in a negative way.

I think the name sounds pretty. Discussing in this forum, it is hard to separate from the brand.

In an organization I worked for there was someone in management named Tinka. I think I would have the same initial reaction if that name were discussed here - that it would always be associated with Tinkerbell. But once it is associated with a person you know, it is not as bad. The person can define the name instead of the other way around.

That being said, if I were considering that name, I would probably use it as a middle name. I think the nickname of Diz could be fun.

If it's a boy are you going to name him Laker?

I have to admit when I read the name, I read it with the Reecolaa (Ricola) tune. ;)

mannnnnnn, some of you are really givin my wife a hard time about this name, why dont cut her some slack, shes trying to be diffrent....hell, i hated my name when I was little, and i got teased all the time, hell people still cant pronounce my name rite

And FYI..her name will be spelled Disnee......all rude comments, keep it to yaself please.....

Since you've already been through this why would you want your kid to go through this? Right or wrong a child with an unusual name WILL be teased. Your concern should be for your fictitious child not your wife.

Nothing like a hypothetical question to :stir::stir::stir:

I've said it before and I'll say it again. When you're thinking of those cutesy names that mean so much to you, remember that your kid has to grow up with it.

Put the words Supreme Court Justice before it and see how it works. Not so good, huh?

this. imagine your child at all stages of life having to tell someone her name is Disney. not good.

and please, don't be disappointed if you have a boy. boys are wonderful little things. girls are wonderful too, but i hate to see someone so determined to have one gender versus the other.

I love everything Disney, I really do, but there is no way I would name my DD that. You have to remember, KIDS ARE MEAN.:rolleyes1

I have to admit when I read the name, I read it with the Reecolaa (Ricola) tune. ;)

I did, too

OP - what about Sidney (which is Disney with the d and s changed up)?

Or:

Aurora
Ariel
Lillian

I do like Disney, however, as a middle name as an homage to such a fantastic place, though!

What about Aurora Disney Campbell?
