"I Want To Go Back!!!"....a Sept 2010 PTR(upd 10/12-TR Started!)

Thank you. It was tricky having a theme (At The Movies) and trying to pick songs that I could choreograph to. Everything worked out beautifully though.

I was in the musicals in HS too! My senior year we did "Grease" and me and all my senior friends had the majority of the leads (I was Cha-Cha DeGregorio). I cried SO hard right before the curtain call. We had performed so much together and we always had a ton of fun.

I cannot WAIT to get a wig! Last night was her last dance class (before we start summer classes in July) and the whole class was told they get to learn their hard shoe dances this summer! I either have to look for used hard shoes or buy brand new ones for $100.

Grease was our senior show, too! I was Miss Lynch and the Sandy understudy. I wasn't such a fan of the musical itself, but it was such an emotional time. The end of basically my favorite part of high school!
Oof-- $100 for shoes Madison will grow out of super quickly? Yikes-- my best friend Irish danced all throughout school (elementary through college), and I think her school had a "used shoes" section. Definitely an expensive sport (all kinds of dancing), but totally worth it! I'm sure Madison will be great at learning the hard shoe dances!!

I'm not a fan of "Grease" the musical either, but I loved that me and my friends were the leads. We spent plenty of time together. My favorite musical we did in HS was "42nd Street" my junior year. It was awesome!!! My freshman year we did "The Music Man" and my sophomore year we did "West Side Story".

That is a lot of money to spend on a pair of shoes. We also have a used shoe bin, but my mom said she'd pay for half of Madison's shoes. I told her she didn't have to do that, but she said that she wants to. I'm not about to turn her down! Dance is definately expensive, but Irish dancing is at the top of the list. When we go to a feis, we pay $8/dance and then it's $10 at the door for parents and non-dancers. It only gets worse as she starts learning more dances!

WOW you had a busy weekend!! Glad everything went well with the recital and congrats to Madison on her 3rd place win!! My girls have their dress rehearsal tomorrow night and they are in the 6:00 pm recital on Saturday!

What an exhausting but exciting weekend! Glad it all went so well :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Yes indeed. It took me a LONG time to recover! I'm both sad and relieved for dance to be over.

I sure did! The recitals were wonderful and they were so much fun. Madison did great on Saturday and she can't wait for the next competition. I hope your girls do great this weekend!

Hi, well done to Madison at her feis, sometimes you wonder if the adjudicators were watching the same dance! but its great to come home with a medal!

your recital photos are great, you can see how close you are to the girls, and you got some disney in, excellent!:cool1:

i think that gets the award for busiest weekend ever! popcorn::

my nana still buys my pumps...! dancing is definitely an expensive hobby but worth it i think when your older and have got a good skill that can enable you to travel and enjoy some great experiences (I was in Majorca twice and Kentucky last year with dancing)

She did such a great job. I don't know the judges can watch 3 little kids at the same time. I would go crazy! I need to buy some blank stickers so I can put them on the back of her medals. We can never tell them apart!

Thanks! I am really close to my girls. They're like my little sisters. Of course I got some Disney in there! It was a very crazy weekend.

That's so sweet! It is quite expensive, but Madison truly loves it, so I don't care how much it is. Girls from our school have gone to Nashville, Orlando, Scotland, Ireland...it's amazing all the places they've been.

Hi there! Well, Tuesday is our 99 day mark and I really want to make a countdown calendar for Madison. If anyone followed my last PTR, you'd know that we made a giant Mickey head on posterboard and used the Mickey head paint chips from Home Depot to fill it in one day at time. I really liked that idea, but I don't want to do it again. We've thought about a countdown chain, but I just know that my cats would get a hold of it and probably tear it to shreds! I'm open to any ideas!!!

I don't have any ideas, I think I'm going to do the mickey head thing myself. Maybe like a month out though, 100 days is too much for a 3 year old!

I'll be watching to see what you come up with!

Woohoo for being so close to your double digit mark. Unfortunately, I have no ideas for a countdown. I'm not terribly creative! :rotfl:

The Mickey Head thing was a lot of fun. For our June trip, we did a 60 day countdown which was a lot of fun. 100 days is a very long time for me!!!! There are some cute countdown chains I've found, but 100 links is a lot. There is one I found which has info/fun facts/etc on the back. Madison would like that a lot, but when do I have time to search for 100 facts?!

I can't wait for double digits! I'm not all that creative either, but I need to come up with something or I'll go crazy!

oh girl...you know those ideas just boggle the brain!! I asked over at the creative boards for our Dec trip last year,...and surprisingly, what I go for responses were the chains!! I ended up just drawing a big ole Mickey head and doing the mickey heads everyday...I did 99 days too...and boy was I sick of it by the time it came around!!! Maybe instead, for this far out, you can just read some Disney books...like the real Bambi by Felix Salten...and give yourself a time to read so many books...like 8 days to read Bambi...or watch 3 classic disney movies or whatever until all your favorites have been watched or read...until you get closer..then make a chain ...maybe if it's just 30 days she can hang it in her closet or something so the cats can't get in there! whatever....keep us posted----by the end of summer I may need one!!!

I want to do something too. I think we'll do a chain - nothing fancy, but I might do 30 days (so I have a couple weeks to prepare it!) and just use red/yellow and black paper. Maybe I'll throw some trivia on the links.

We're planning on watching some more Disney movies as well. Found out DD9 got to watch some of Fantasia at school the other day!! I was jealous! She's talking about Sorcerer Mickey and dancing brooms - I said, "Fantasia?" Yeah, that's it!

99 days is a very long time to do a countdown. I think we might do the movies. We belong to Netflix now and we love it! We can watch things instantly through our Wii and it is so awesome. I know we have lots of classic Disney movies on our list....Jungle Book, Bambi...lots! I think 60 days worked out quite well for us, so maybe I'll do a chain for that. The Disney website has calendars, so maybe I'll make a few of those for June and July and let Madison color the picture at the top and cross off the days.

That sounds like a great idea! Trivia is always fun and Madison really enjoys it.

I love Fantasia! Madison has never seen it. I'll have to add it to the Netflix list!

So, I've done a bit of shopping lately. Last night, Tony and I went out to dinner and then stopped at an Old Navy on the way home. ON is currently having a sale on a lot of their Men's clothing and Tony needs some new clothes. We ended up getting him a pair of jeans (they were on clearance for $14.99 and there is an extra 30% off clearance right now!) 2 ringer tees, a polo shirt, a pair of shorts, khakis and socks. We also bought Madison a football and a set of pajamas. We got all of that stuff for about $65!!!! (I love having a discount at ON). All of Tony's new clothes are his Father's Day gift from me.

Speaking of Old Navy....today was our $2 tank top sale and all stores opened at 7am. Yikes! So, I decided to be crazy and woke up at 6:20am. I was in line outside my store by 6:40ish and I was about 20th in line. I had to push myself through people to get to the tank top table! It was ridiculous. I managed to grab 3 for myself and 2 for Madison (there was a limit of 5). I also got a 2nd pair of jeans for Tony (they were actually an exchange) and another pair of shorts. I got to use my discount on everything, so I got 5 tank tops for $1.50 each! Major score! I was also able to buy one (and only one) on Thursday for $2 without my discount.

I also did other shopping yesterday as well. I went to my ON (I feel like I live there sometimes) and picked up 2 shirts for Madison. After I picked her up from school, we headed to Kohl's. I needed a new frame (one of mine broke the other day) and I wanted to pick up some frames for Father's Day gifts for Tony, my FIL and my dad. I also bought 2 dresses....I have a lot of weddings this year! I'm sure you'd like to see all of these great purchases, so it's time for some pics!

I bought this for Madison to wear to Toy Story 3. We really want to see it Friday night!

I couldn't pass up this adorable halter top. It wasn't on sale, but I didn't care :goodvibes

These are the tanks I got Madison today. The pink one is backwards to show there is a design on the back too!

Here are the funky tanks I got myself (I also bought a white one). I bought the teal one on Thursday.

I'd like to wear one of these to the beach wedding in July, I just can't pick which one. These are the sandals I'm wearing to that wedding:

Calendar Time!

I decided to print out some Disney calendars and use those until our 30 day mark. After that, we're going to make a countdown chain. Here are the calendars me and Madison colored today. Yes, I colored one. I printed out 2 of each month so she could have a choice and I decided to keep ones she didn't want to use.

005-6.jpg

These are mine. We decided to make Sept so we can have 2 countdowns going at the same time.

Here is a close up. We can cross off each day with a black marker.

These are Madison's. Cute, right?

I really hope I don't have any more shopping to do for awhile. I'm getting a little out of control again! I did win an auction on ebay this morning for a lot of 30 Disney pins. My winning bid was $15.95 plus $4.55 shipping. Not bad! Madison doesn't have very many pins that she wants to trade (she wants to keep almost all of the ones she currently has) so hopefully there will be some great trading pins in our lot. There really isn't a whole lot more we need to buy for our trip. We want to buy Maddie a new "Guide to the Magic" book and we need to preorder our photopass. That shoul be about it!

Wonderful purchases! I've been debating going to ON but I think I'll pass. We did hit the $1 flip flop sale a few weeks ago.

Your calenders look great. I'm going to have to remember then for the future.
