"I Want To Go Back!!!"....a Sept 2010 PTR(upd 10/12-TR Started!)

I haven't been to 50's PTC since I was about 15 years old, so I'm really looking forward to it. I've heard their milkshakes are incredible so I'm definately have to get one. My parents never usually let us get a milkshake with our meal. We always filled up on it and could never finish our dinner! Thanks for the info on show. I'm hoping they will just use our credit card to hold our ressie.

I had the PB&J milkshake and it was TO DIE FOR! Highly recommended :thumbsup2

Ok....possibly disregard what I just wrote. The more I look over my schedule, I kind of like it the way it was (with MNSSHP on the 24th). I guess I have until Friday to figure it all out!!!! You see, Epcot has EMH from 8-9am on the 28th which we want to go to. There is no EMH in the morning on the 24th, so I planned to have us a sleep in a bit and take it easy before MNSSHP. Too many decisions!!!

Where did you find the schedule for the MNSSHP dates? A woman I work with is going crazy because she hasn't been able to find them!

I'm really looking forward to a milkshake at 50's PTC. I probably won't get the pb&j because I can't stand jelly! :rotfl: I'm a peanut butter only girl.

MNSSHP dates haven't been released yet. I'm just guessing what days it will be held based on park hours. The party goes from 7pm-midnight, so I'm guessing that days MK closes at 7pm are party days.

I have been working on our park schedule lately and I'm starting to go crazy. I have come up with two different options and I'd love some feedback!

ORIGINAL PLAN

Sept 22-Hopefully get the 7am nonstop flight to Orlando; take ME to Pop; check-in; Head to AK for EMH from 5-8pm (don't know what time we'll get there yet)

Sept 23- MK EMH 8-9am; stay at MK until our ressie for late bfast at CM; back to Pop (swim/rest); head to DHS in late afternoon; Fantasmic at 8pm (hopefully)

Sept 24- sleep in/DTD; MNSSHP (7pm-midnight); get to MK by 4pm (get our wristbands); CRT around 4:30pm

Sept25- 1st plan was for DHS EMH, but we've taken that off the schedule; sleep in; head to EP later in the day; CR or GG around 4:30pm; IllumiNations at 9pm

Sept 26- Crystal Palace early; back to Pop; MK EMH (8pm-11pm); Wishes at 8pm

Sept 27- AK EMH (8-9am); back to Pop/DTD; DHS for EMH (7-10pm); 50's PTC around 4:30pm

Sept 28- EP EMH (8-9am); stay at EP?; Cape May for dinner around 5:30pm

Sept 29- 'Ohana around 9am; either MK or EP

Now, here's is a different schedule I've come up with:

Sept 22- land at MCO; ME to Pop; check-in; AK for EMH (5-8pm)

Sept 23-MK EMH (8-9am); CM for late bfast; DHS for Fantasmic at 8pm

Sept 24- EP for 9am opening; Cape May for late bfast; stay at EP for EMH (9pm-midnight)

Sept 25-sleep in; head to EP later in the day; CR or GG for dinner around 4:30pm; IllumiNations at 9pm

Sept 26- Crystal Palace early bfast; back to Pop to swim/relax, maybe DTD; MK for Wishes at 8pm and EMH (8-11pm)

Sept 27-AK EMH (8-9am); DTD or back to Pop; DHS for EMH (7-10pm); 50's PTC for dinner around 4:30pm

Sept 28th- sleep in/swim; MNSSHP (7pm-midnight); arrive at MK by 4pm for wristbands; CRT around 4:30pm

Sept 29th-'Ohana for bfast; either MK or EP before ME to airport

I like both plans, but I need some help. The 2nd one is definately more "relaxing" to me, but I feel like all our visits to Epcot are towards the beginning of our trip. It's Tony and Madison's favorite park, so I want to make sure we spend a good amount of time there. I gladly welcome all of your opinions/suggestions/etc. I just want to get everything set in stone by Friday (ADR's!!!!). Speaking of ADR's, call me crazy, but I'm going to hold off making my ressie for CRT until FD is officially released. I was reading about CRT on another thread and if you make your ressie before adding the DDP, they will charge your credit card. Not that this bothers me, but I was reading about the hassle of getting the charge removed from your card after you add the dining plan. If I can't get an early ADR, I'm ok with one a bit later. As long as it's BEFORE MNSSHP starts, I'm ok with it.

Well, I didn't really analyze too deeply, but I notice you're hitting some AM EMH after a PM EMH night and wonder if it might be too much (or too little sleep?). Plus think about if you can do am EMH and pmEMH all in one day. I definitely like the second one where you go to MNSSHP on a Tuesday instead of a Friday. It also gets you to Epcot sooner.
I know for us, we avoid the pm EMH, but I know you guys like them. We usually do the park the day after pm EMH to avoid crowds. But in September, it probably won't be an issue for you.
I like your last morning breakfast at Ohana! We do that too!
As for the DDP, why couldn't you add it now? FD would come out before your pay in full date and if you don't get it, you could cancel it if you want. That way you could still get CRT when you want it with no worries. Or would that mess up your packages too many times?? I guess I see your point. Too many changes! Plus FD would come out shortly after your ADR date, so I bet you could still get what you want.
Have you tried to book CRT just to see what's available about a week after a fake 180 day mark? I bet if there's availability, it would be fine.

You could use that book to keep 8X10 pictures in sleeves. I never knew what to do with the 8x10s we got every year and just kept piling them up in the frame behind the new ones! That could be his yearly picture book.

You are INNOVATIVE!! That is an incredible idea!!!!

Hey Meagan!! WOW!! You have so many decisions to make!! Goodness, I don't even know!! I would just go with what feels best. Relaxing could definitely be easier...hmmm...I don't even know!!

P.S. I was reading the talks about how you like the name Cole and can't wait to expand your family...are there any plans for that any time soon? :goodvibes exciting stuff!!

Hmm....either way you do it you run into the potential of crowds. EMH in the morning can make it more crowded and a MNSSHP on a weekend is crowded. Do what you think you will be most happiest with in the long run!! I am definitely trying to be aware of late nights and having the ability to sleep in a little the next morning. I do not want us to be bone tired by the time the end of the week.

I asked myself what parks did we want more time in and went from there. For us, EP and MK are the most important. AK and DHS we will spend a day there. For us, that works. With the heat and my daughter being younger, stopping in the middle of day with the heat will be important because she will need time to cool off (well, all of us will) and decompress before heading back into the parks. We know, realistically, we are not shooting to do everything in every park. Even with EP and MK, I know there will be things we will not be able to do. I don't think there is one one perfect plan--only what works best for each individual family.

I think I like the second plan best. And I was looking at it - if you're worried about front-loading the week for your Epcot time, remember that you can always got back that last day before ME and do the favorites one last time, to leave that lasting impression and memories with their favorite park. Also, I can see some room to throw in Epcot on the 27th after the AK EMHs. You might get so much done from 8 to (say) 10-ish that then you could go straight to Epcot for a couple of hours before going back to Pop for a rest.

I think your plans (either of them) look so exciting!

I think with the 2nd plan, there is only one AM EMH after a PM EMH (AK). Back in June, we had great intentions of staying for all of EMH, but we just got too tired. Plus, the hours were much longer in June. For example: MK was open until 11pm, so EMH went from 11pm to 2am!!! :scared1: I think we only made it until midnight. We definately prefer to do AM EMH, stay at that park for awhile and then leave. So, PM EMH is not really a "must-do" for us.

I could call and add the DDP to our ressie right now, but I think I'll just wait. I have looked online for CRT ressies a few days past 180 days, and there are plenty of openings. I know that will definately change after FD is released, but I'm willing to take my chances.

There are so many decisions to make! I need to just relax and not be so stressed. It's Disney!!!! I'm just happy to be going. We don't plan on expanding the family until AFTER we get back from our trip. I think we're aiming for a July arrival of a new baby. :goodvibes That way, school is done for Madison, I'm done teaching dance for the summer....it will be less stressful when we don't have a million things going on. Over the summer, the only thing I have to do is take Madison to her dance competitions. I know my mom will be more than happy to help us out with that. My little sister used to dance, so she's a pro at all that stuff.

We have noticed that the AM EMH park does tend to get more crowded as the day goes on, so that's why we stay for a few hours and leave. At first, I didn't like the idea of doing MNSSHP the night before we leave, but now I actually love it. It will definately be our latest night because I'd love to try and stay for the entire time. Like I said somewhere in this PTR, who cares if we're tired on departure day? We'll have a 2 hour plane ride home to sleep!

We definately want to spend the most time at EP and MK too. Those are our favs! I'm planning both PM and AM EMH's will be plenty of time for us at AK. We like the safari first thing in the morning! The only other "must-dos" for us there are EE (for me and DH-love the single rider line!), Dinosaur and FOTLK. We liked Nemo, so we might try to see it again too. Maddie is still too short for Primeval Whirl and Triceratop Spin is just like Dumbo and the Carpets (which never have a line). We like the walking trails too. I think we can accomplish that short list during the EMH's. We also love taking breaks in the middle of the day. It's a nice break and we feel so refreshed for evening park touring.

I think I like the second plan best. And I was looking at it - if you're worried about front-loading the week for your Epcot time, remember that you can always got back that last day before ME and do the favorites one last time, to leave that lasting impression and memories with their favorite park. After our 'Ohana breakfast on departure day, we will definately hit up MK or EP. I'm hoping to book a late flight home, so we won't have to catch ME until late afternoon. If we went with a one-stop flight home, JetBlue has a flight leaving MCO around 7pm. Yeah, we wouldn't get back to Buffalo until almost midnight, but that doesn't bother me. However, that will require Madison missing another full day or possibly a half day of school. But, it would give us some more time in the parks!

Oh, wow. Both plans sound so great in different ways. The first one would definitely give you more time at Epcot, but the second is more relaxing. What do Tony and Madison think? Have they looked at both plans? I'm sure that whatever you decide will be great!! Oh--and good luck with everything working out with all of your ADRs!! :thumbsup2

Honestly, Tony and Maddie don't really care. Every time I ask Tony a question, he says whatever I want to do is fine with him. He knows that I love planning and he's happy doing whatever I've planned out. I would have loved to sit down as a family and plan out ADR's and such, but they aren't really interested. They both LOVE Disney, but they leave the planning up to me. The only thing I was told to do was get an ADR for Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. They don't really care where else we eat! :rotfl: I'm definately leaning towards the 2nd plan and there is plenty of Epcot in there, it's just all towards the beginning of the trip. I guess after our 'Ohana breakfast, we can go to MK or EP. I'm guessing we'll end up at Epcot, but that's fine with me. I LOVE taking the monorail from TTC to Epcot and Madison has never gotten to do that. On Tony's first trip, we only went to MK and DHS. However, on our MK day, we accidentally got on the Epcot monorail!! I'm sure everything will work out and I just need to stop stressing about it.

Your family sounds a lot like mine. They know I like to plan and they let me do it. But the difference is that my family has made it clear that they will not necessarily be willing to stick with my plan. So I have to be flexible and not the commando. This time will be a little different since it's just the two of us and we are trying to schedule very loosely.

You're making me want to stay at a monorail resort! :rolleyes1

I try not to make our plans too restricting. I don't map out our whole day or anything (my mom used to do this to us), but I have a general idea of what I'd like to do on certain days. For the most part, I figure out which park to go to on what day and where we're going to eat. After that, we roll with the punches. I have things I'd like to do and see, and we just try to fit them in where we can. If something doesn't get accomplished, I put it on the list for next time!

I'd love to stay at a monorail resort (especially the Poly)! I could ride the monorail all day long and never get bored. I loved staying at the Contemporary when I was little (one time). I think we ate at Chef Mickey's every single morning! :rotfl: That was back before ADR's and we could walk in and get a table whenever we wanted.

I like the 2nd plan I think...and the MNSSHP on a Tuesday seems a lot better than Friday....Have u thought about just going ahead and booking CRT and paying for it on your credit card..then you would have a couple of TS credits for a day when you might want to have 2 sit down meals? If not..just keep watching it..that and Le Cellier are always the 2 hardest meals for us to get!

We will definately be bringing home a TON of candy by doing MNSSHP the night before we come home!!! That just means more snacks on the plane I guess. :rotfl: If CRT weren't so darn expensive for dinner we would pay OOP for it. We're either going to pay OOP for Cape May or 'Ohana (they are the least expensive meals). That will give us 8 sit down meals which is just fine with us. We did 2 TS meals in one day in June and it was just too much food for us. I'm just going to have to keep an eye on CRT for the next week. Here's hoping FD gets released on Monday or Tuesday next week!

Hey will will be there around the same time. Just diffrent dates. We stayed at POP last year and loved it. It was are frist time at a value in a long time. It may still be even a possibility for us. We are thinking of getting 2 rooms instead of AKL and it will be cheaper.

I so want to stay at AKL but I love pop also.

Tony sounds like my DH when it comes to planning. I like your second plan best. It sounds more relaxed. Or you can go with the first one and when you start feeling tired you can eat some of candy from MNSSHP and keep going on your sugar high.

Awesome! Thanks for reading!

Very true! I'm leaning towards the 2nd plan right now. I went over it with the fam last night and they like it too.

Just thought I'd let everyone know...Southwest updated their schedule today! :cool1: Their prices are amazing...$69 each way for nonstop flights!!! :woohoo: Tony wants to wait to book the flights until after FD is released and that's fine with me. There really is no rush to book them I guess. With JetBlue, you're stuck once you book your flights (we use the cheapest fares). No refunds if you cancel and they don't give you the price difference if your flight gets cheaper. With Southwest, if you cancel they at least give you a voucher that you can use for future use. I'm pretty sure they also let you know if your price goes down. So we have some decisions to make. Do we wait and see if JetBlue lowers their prices (they are the BEST airline in our minds) or do we just take the plunge and book with Southwest? I know Southwest is a great airline, but they don't have tvs and awesome snacks. I'm so spoiled!!! :rotfl:
