I want to eat the stuff in Living with the Land

Living with the Land is one of my favorite rides. I wonder why don't sell the stuff for people to sample? I know they sell some of it, but I'm talk about all of it. Anything that's edible. Like they claim that all parts of the water lily is edible (I think that's what they said). Well, I want to try it! I want them to sell a small sample of each of them that they grow in there so that people can have fun trying it out, eating the root of the "Monkey puzzle tree" or whatever. I understand that they may not grow enough for everybody to try, but they can just say offer a small bite of a winter melon and charge $5 for it, and only when it's available.

Later edit: I know that the stuff is sold here and there in WDW, but I want them to be specifically marked at the Land as a novelty as, say, The Land Vegetable Sample: Today features: bittermelon. (Warning: very bitter!) That way, we know exactly what we are sampling, and we do it just for that. Not having the vegetables buried in some dish and we don't even notice that we ate it.

I also don't want to go on their tours and sample a bunch of vegetables at the same time. Going on tours take too long, and I don't like vegetables that much. I just want a taste of all the weird stuff in that I can't normally buy. I'm imagining going to the land, buy one small sample of edible root of something that's about 2 bites worth, say 2 thin slices for $6, and share it with the kids so that we each get half a bite, and then discuss the flavor: interesting? tasty? gross? And have fun doing that!

Also, I don't believe they are selling everything the grow in the land in WDW restaurants. Where would they sell the bittermelon? It's extremely gross if you are not used to it. The most they would sell is maybe the tomatoes and the lettuce or something. I think they just throw the bittermelon away. But if they sell it as a weird vegetable tasting sample, they can get say $50 out of each bittermelon, and guests can have fun at the same time.

They give it to restaurants for them to put in there food. There is a tour you can take where they will give you a sample of something

The narration/signage of the ride actually mentions that the items grown are used at WDW restaurants.

Back in the days when Garden Grill was "The Good Turn" I think the menus might have cited some dishes that contained ingredients grown there in the pavilion. Side Note: Kraft was the pavilion sponsor and the restaurant featured a number of dishes featuring Kraft cheese products including a pretty tasty cheese bread.:)

I wish I knew the specific restaurants also. On the ride, it would be so great if they'd name names of the restaurants, but of course, they don't. And when I ate at the Garden Grill the lack of vegetables was probably my biggest disappointment. I guess I figured that with the Living With The Land boat ride so close, there'd be TONS of vegetables. It's not that there weren't any, but just no more than at any other restaurant.

When it was The Good Turn Restaurant we got a collection of recipe cards that included one for the Cheese Bread. Your post made me go and look for the recipes. :)

Disney has a ton more than what you see. Most vegetables in meals sold across property are grown there on property. Epcot has massive greenhouses that you don't see. There are also large fields behind Animal Kingdom. They also get some of the meat from Animal Kingdom.

(Just kidding about that last part)

They do use what's growing there in WDW restaurants. I learned about that during the Behind the Seeds tour which takes place in that pavillion.

When I ate at Garden Grill last month we got pickles that were made fresh from cucumbers from the greenhouse. They were delicious.
